Fox and raccoon dog mange mite disease is prone to occur in autumn and winter, and farmers need to prevent and treat it early
In the current season, the breeding of fur animals is entering the fur growth period. In addition to meeting the various nutrients required for fur growth, special attention should be paid to the occurrence of external parasitic diseases. Zhaoyuan Farm has 100,000 foxes and raccoon dogs on hand and has rich experience in the prevention and treatment of mange mite disease. The precautions are introduced as follows:
Pay attention to observation. Skin diseases such as mange mite disease cause great harm to fur animal breeding. It should attract sufficient attention from the majority of breeding farms and farmers, especially in the current winter fur growth season. Inspection and prevention and treatment of mange is a task that farmers cannot ignore before pelting.
The symptoms of mange mostly start from the head, mouth, nose, eyes, ears, chest, and claws, and then spread throughout the body. The skin becomes red, with rash-like small nodules, thickening of subcutaneous tissue, and severe itching. Sick animals scratch the affected area, hair falls off, and bloody scratches appear on the hairless skin areas. The skin in the affected area thickens and forms folds, or forms scabs, dry cracks, and dander. Mange is extremely contagious and can spread through the air.
Prevention and treatment methods: After discovering sick animals with mange, they should first be isolated for treatment to prevent the spread of infection. The main prevention and treatment measures for mange are: external application and subcutaneous injection. For mild cases, a 1% to 2% trichlorfon aqueous solution can be applied to the affected area, or 15% concentrated iodine tincture can be applied 1 to 2 times. Some domestic medicinal injections also have a certain controlling effect on mange. After the occurrence of mange, it cannot be ignored, and the condition must be controlled. Practice has proved that imported Ivomec has a special therapeutic effect on mange and various external parasites. For raccoon dogs and adult foxes, the dosage is 0.2 to 0.5 milliliters (increase or decrease within this range according to the condition and body weight), and generally one treatment can cure it. Seriously sick animals can be injected again after 12 days. Ivomec can also effectively prevent the occurrence of mange. The general preventive dose is 0.1 to 0.2 milliliters. When using Ivomec, subcutaneous injection should be used and intramuscular injection is prohibited. Ivomec is generally stored at room temperature and protected from light, with a shelf life of 5 years.
