Four Methods to Increase the Health-Tonic Value of Silkie Chickens
The Silkie chicken, also known as the silky fowl or black-boned chicken, has black meat, skin and bones. Its body is rich in trace elements, vitamins, unsaturated fatty acids, melanin, iodine and selenium and other trace elements and macro elements needed by the human body, and it has good dietary therapy and health-tonic functions. However, in raising silkie chickens, people mostly focus their efforts on fattening, and very few consider how to improve their medicinal and health-tonic value.
Researchers have carried out extensive and in-depth studies on feed, and through laboratory testing have proven that black crops such as black corn, black @#@245@#@, black small beans and black soybeans contain various trace elements, amino acids, selenium, iodine, amylopectin and soluble pigments, and their content is several times or even higher than that of ordinary crops. Practice has proven that feeding silkie chickens with the seeds of black crops increases their black content by 0.5 to 2 times compared with ordinary feed; the content of melanin, iodine and selenium in the body is about 4.5 times the original, and the chickens' growth condition is also noticeably improved and enhanced, while their functions of nourishing yin and strengthening yang, nourishing qi and tonifying qi, and nourishing and tonifying blood are markedly improved.
The method of feeding silkie chickens with the seeds of black crops is: 1. In the morning, feed them entirely with black feed on an empty stomach, and note that the amount added should be appropriate, with no leftovers being the ideal. Feeding on an empty stomach makes digestion and absorption easier, while adding too much feed is wasteful.
2. In the morning and afternoon, feed them entirely with ordinary feed, because feeding chickens entirely with black feed does not allow complete digestion and absorption (no animal can digest, absorb and utilize all the feed it eats, and chickens are no exception), and feeding entirely with black feed increases the cost of raising inputs.
3. The drinking water must be clean and hygienic, to prevent loose droppings that consume nutrients and lower the chickens' constitution.
4. The rearing area must be spacious and have sufficient light, so that the chickens can move about freely and prevent an increase in body fat.
