Detailed Explanation of Poultry Disease Epidemic Dynamics and Classic Treatment Protocols
The technical department of Xinhua Company, through follow-up investigations of important diseases in 2007 and in combination with laboratory testing and related research, analyzed and predicted the epidemic dynamics of important poultry diseases requiring special attention in 2008. Combined with clinical investigations, and in line with the principle of treating both symptoms and root causes to minimize breeding losses, the following classic treatment protocols are provided for reference:
1. Highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1 subtype)
The application of recombinant avian influenza virus inactivated vaccine Re-1 strain and Re-4 strain has brought the epidemic to subsidence within a certain period, but any immunization failure will lead to sporadic cases or even endemic prevalence. Moreover, there are still certain differences between the currently used vaccines and circulating strains, and vigilance is needed against the hidden existence and clinical "atypical" occurrence of H5N1 subtype avian influenza.
Prevention and control measures:
1. Immunize simultaneously with Re-1 strain and Re-4 strain avian influenza vaccines (or combined vaccines), completing at least 3 immunizations before the start of laying, at approximately 10 days of age, approximately 30 days of age, and before the start of laying. 2. Strengthen immunization monitoring to guide additional immunization and timing. 3. Perform good biosafety work, especially attention to the prevention and control of wild waterfowl, migratory birds and rodents. 4. Classic treatment protocols:
Protocol 1: Hukang combined with Linggan Xianfeng. In the morning, concentrated drinking of Ganshukang; in the afternoon, concentrated mixing of quick-soluble cod liver oil or Xinhua Weita into feed, with mixing into feed or drinking water throughout the day.
Protocol 2: Texiao Chuanlisha combined with Shuanghuanglian. In the morning, concentrated drinking of Dijunqing; in the afternoon, concentrated drinking of Xinhua Weita or Qinhuangjin, with mixing into feed or drinking water throughout the day.
Protocol 3: For flocks with severe disease, Hukang combined with Ganlining. In the morning, concentrated drinking of Xinhua Qite; in the afternoon, concentrated drinking of Ganshukang; in the afternoon, concentrated mixing of Kangshen Luoqi or Puwei Gan into feed; in the evening, free drinking of Xinhua Weita or Qinhuangjin, with mixing into feed or drinking water throughout the day. For individual chickens: ribavirin, amikacin, metamizole and dexamethasone mixed for intramuscular injection, combined with oral administration of Hukang and Ganshukang.
