Polyculture of yellow catfish and soft-shelled turtles can net 10,000 yuan per mu
In recent years, with breakthroughs in special feed for yellow catfish and in fry breeding technology, various farming models for yellow catfish, including main culture, polyculture and intercropping, have been rapidly applied. The "18221" efficient pond farming model uses high-economic-value yellow catfish to replace the traditional "four major Chinese carps" in a polyculture model with soft-shelled turtles. This model means that in 1 mu of farming water surface, 800 jin of yellow catfish and 200 jin of soft-shelled turtles are produced, with an output value of 20,000 yuan and a profit of 10,000 yuan. It is a typical high-yield, high-efficiency farming model.
Its technical points:
One, strictly clear the pond and disinfect. Yellow catfish is a small bottom-dwelling economic fish with relatively weak ability to compete for food. Food-eating fish and predatory fish in the pond directly affect its growth and survival. Therefore, pond clearing and disinfection must be thorough, so as to remove food-eating fish and predatory fish from the pond and prevent miscellaneous fish eggs from entering the pond. Disinfectant dosage: bleaching powder 10-15 kg/mu or quicklime 150-200 kg/mu.
Two, increase the stocking amount of yellow catfish. In mid-March, stock 3,500-4,000 yellow catfish fingerlings weighing 10-20 g each per mu. To purify the water quality, additionally stock 100-110 silver carp and bighead carp fingerlings of about 250 g each per mu (bighead carp accounting for 10%). When stocking the fingerlings, soak them in 2-3% salt water for 5-10 minutes.
Three, control the stocking amount of soft-shelled turtle juveniles. The characteristics of the "18221" farming model are: adult soft-shelled turtles are farmed in the pond for two years, and the harvest size is over 1,000 g. High-quality soft-shelled turtle juveniles are required, the stocking amount of juveniles should be controlled, and ecological farming should be implemented. Stocking amount: at the beginning of the year, stock 100-120 juveniles per mu transferred from the previous year's pond, with a size of 500-600 g each; in early May, stock 120-150 juveniles per mu, with a size of 100-250 g each, stocking the full amount at one time.
Four, strengthen feeding management.
1. Feeding yellow catfish: First, feed training. Whether the yellow catfish fingerlings come from the wild or from pond farming, when feeding begins, fingerlings that have not undergone feed training must be manually trained to accept feed. Training method: 2 days after the fingerlings enter the pond, mince animal feed into a paste, mix it with crushed artificial compound feed and knead it into balls, and feed it at fixed points on the feeding table. After 15-20 days, gradually reduce the amount of animal feed and increase the amount of artificial compound feed, until only artificial compound feed is fed. Second, adhere to the "four fixed" feeding principle. When the water temperature is 15°C, yellow catfish begin to be fed. Feeding amount: at 15-20°C, 0.5%-2.0% of fish body weight, once a day; above 25°C, the feeding amount is 4-7% of fish body weight, twice a day. The feed for yellow catfish is required to have a crude protein content of 35-42%.
2. Feeding soft-shelled turtles: Use special soft-shelled turtle feed. Feed once every evening, with a daily feeding rate of 4-6%. Adjust appropriately each day based on whether the feed is finished. Feed is distributed at multiple points on the slope at the water-land junction.
Five, attach importance to water quality control. The pond water should remain lively, tender and fresh. First, frequently add or change water to maintain pond water depth. From April to June, add new water once every 10-15 days; in the high-temperature season of July and August, add water once every 7-10 days, 15-20 cm each time. When the water is too fertile, first drain part of the old water, then add new water, keeping the pond water depth at 1.8-2.0 m and the transparency within 35 cm; second, turn on aerators and splash quicklime to improve water quality. In the early morning and around noon, turn on the aerator to increase dissolved oxygen in the water. In the high-temperature season, every 20-25 days, splash quicklime at 25-30 kg/mu over the whole pond; when water changes are difficult, such as when the water source is insufficient or the water quality is poor, microecological preparations can be used to improve the pond water quality.
Six, do a good job of fish disease prevention. Adhere to the principle of "prevention first, treatment as a supplement, comprehensive prevention and control." Throughout the entire rearing process, in addition to thorough pond clearing and disinfection and soaking disinfection before stocking fingerlings, especially during the season when fish diseases are prevalent, a combination of oral medicines and external medicines should also be used, regularly feeding medicated bait and splashing external medicines for disease prevention.
