What measures can improve the efficacy of fish medications

Livestock Farming 0 views
Because fish medications are used in an aquatic environment, there are many limiting factors, and it is often difficult to achieve the ideal effect. To improve the effectiveness of medication, attention must be paid to application techniques. 1. Choice between external and internal medications. When disease occurs in a fish pond, the disease must first be diagnosed accurately and quickly. For common bacterial diseases such as red skin disease, gill rot, and white skin disease, external medications applied by splashing are preferable; calculate the water volume accurately and splash the whole pond continuously 1 to 2 times. For diseases such as enteritis and liver disease, internal medications are more effective. When parasitic diseases are found, internal and external medications should be used together; before using internal medications, first apply an external water disinfectant and bactericide once.

Because fish medications are used in an aquatic environment, there are many limiting factors, and it is often difficult to achieve the ideal effect. To improve the effectiveness of medication, attention must be paid to application techniques.

1. Choice between external and internal medications

2. Add a binder

Internal medications are mostly relatively fine powders. If the medication is directly mixed into the feed and fed, it is easily dispersed and wasted in the water, affecting the therapeutic effect and delaying the timing of treatment. If a binder made mainly from high-quality @#@245@#@ flour, sweet potato starch, mung bean and broad bean powder, etc., is used, and 0.6% to 0.8% medication is added and mixed into balls or granules for feeding, the efficacy of the medication can be fully brought into play.

3. Add a feeding attractant

Fish have a very keen sense of smell. If strongly aromatic Chinese medicinal herbs such as star anise, white mustard, angelica dahurica, and clove are ground into fine powder and used as a feeding attractant, mixed into fish medication at a ratio of 10% to 20% for feeding, the effect is relatively good.

4. Combination of Chinese and Western medicines

Mixing Chinese medicines into certain Western medicines can both improve efficacy and reduce medication costs. For example, grinding Chinese medicines such as rhubarb, phellodendron, and Andrographis paniculata into powder and mixing them into sulfonamide and furan Western medicines can increase efficacy compared with using Chinese herbal medicines alone.

5. Medication administration methods

When preventing disease, ordinary bait should be fed first so that the fish with strong constitutions can eat their fill first, and then medicated bait should be fed, so that the weak fish and those with poor food-grabbing ability eat more medicated bait. When treating disease, medicated bait should be fed first, so that healthy fish and fish that have just become ill eat more medicated bait, fully bringing into play the therapeutic effect of the fish medication.
