Detailed Explanation of Processing and Utilization Techniques for Medicinal Scorpions

Livestock Farming 0 views
There are two methods for processing medicinal finished scorpions: light whole scorpion and salted whole scorpion. 1. Processing of light whole scorpion. Light whole scorpion is also called clear water scorpion. Before processing, soak the scorpions to be processed in clean water for about one hour, while gently stirring to wash off the dirt on the scorpions' bodies and allow them to excrete feces. After removing them, put them into boiling water and cook over high heat for about 30 minutes. The water in the pot should be sufficient to submerge the scorpions. After removing from the pot, spread them on mats and place them in basins to air-dry. 2. Processing of salted whole scorpion. Salted whole scorpion is also called salt water scorpion. 2. Processing of salted whole scorpion

Salted whole scorpion is also called salt water scorpion. The processing method for salted whole scorpion is largely similar to that for light whole scorpion. The difference is: first bring the water to a boil, then add an appropriate amount of table salt (0.3 kg of salt per 1 kg of scorpions), and after the salt dissolves, add the scorpions. Salted whole scorpions can only be air-dried, not sun-dried. This is because sun-dried salted whole scorpions develop a layer of salt frost on the surface and are brittle and easily broken.

High-quality medicinal finished scorpions should meet the following requirements: First, the insect bodies are dry and the color is correct; second, the insect bodies are intact, with no missing limbs or broken tails, and no fragments; third, no moisture reabsorption; fourth, no salt particles, mud, sand, or other debris; fifth, separated by size, not mixed together.

The finished medicinal scorpions must never be placed under direct sunlight to dry, otherwise the insect bodies will become brittle and easily broken upon impact or pressure, which will affect the quality of the finished product.

To store finished scorpions, they need to be kept in wooden boxes or cardboard boxes. Place them in a dry, cool, and ventilated area, and check regularly to prevent rodent damage.
