How to choose a Greyhound? Selection methods and precautions
(1) Before buying, you should read some materials introducing the body shape characteristics and traits of this breed of dog, so that you have a clear picture of this dog in your mind and can avoid choosing blindly.
(2) When buying, you must choose a puppy that is strong, lively, agile in movement, with bright piercing eyes, and free of any disease.
(3) During the selection, carefully examine each part of the dog to see whether it meets the body shape standards that this breed should have.
(4) Specifically, in terms of height and weight, this dog must not exceed the standard by too much, otherwise it may not be a purebred of this breed.
(5) When assessing temperament traits, pay attention to whether the dog is friendly and affectionate toward people, whether its movements are agile and vigorous, and whether it barks or bites indiscriminately.
(6) When assessing body shape characteristics, you should comprehensively compare each part according to the standard: the dog's head, chest, back, waist, abdomen, forelimbs, hindlimbs, neck, tail, toes, claws, eyes, nose, muzzle, ears, coat, and coat color.
(7) It is not advisable to choose the smallest individual in the same litter. Because this "little runt" may be the weakest one in the litter of dogs.
(8) If the dog you want to buy is a purebred, the seller can generally produce the pedigree certificates of the dog's sire and dam; if they cannot, the purity of the breed is hard to guarantee.
(9) If this is a dog with a very good physique that has been properly raised, the seller will generally be willing to issue a 1-2 week health guarantee when selling it.
(10) After the selection is completed and the purchase is confirmed, both parties should sign a transfer certificate.
