Remedial and Management Measures for Fishery Production After a Disaster

Livestock Farming 0 views
Recently, in some areas of our province, continuous heavy rains caused many aquaculture ponds to overflow and fish to escape, bringing relatively large losses to farmers. Doing a good job of remedial and management work for fishery production after the disaster has become an important task for aquaculture farmers at present. Based on years of experience in fishery work, the author proposes the following measures for the reference of the broad community of farmers. 1.

1. Remedial measures for fishery production after a disaster

1. Surround the fish pond with netting. When floodwaters recede, surround the fish pond with netting at the appropriate time to prevent fish in the pond from continuing to escape, thereby reducing losses.

2. Restock fry and fingerlings. For ponds with relatively severe fish escape, restock fry and fingerlings at the appropriate time, mainly by stocking summer fry and oriental river prawn seedlings, with 300-500 summer fry per mu or about 2,000 oriental river prawn seedlings of 1-2 cm in size.

2. Management of fish ponds after a disaster

1. Lower the water level and thoroughly disinfect the pond water. After flooding, the pond water level should be kept moderate, generally 1.5-2 m is appropriate. Timely use disinfectant drugs to disinfect the pond water to prevent the occurrence of infectious diseases. Quicklime is best as the disinfectant, using 13 kg of quicklime per mu of water surface at 1 m depth, slaked in water and splashed over the entire pond.

2. Feed full-price high-quality feed. After a disaster, because fewer fish remain in the pond, to achieve high and stable yields, full-price high-quality fish feed should be fed at the appropriate time, especially in ponds restocked with summer fry and prawn seedlings, where full-price feed should be fed. Under normal circumstances, if what is restocked is silver crucian carp summer fry, when high-quality feed is fed, they can reach market size by the end of that year.

3. Prevent and treat fish diseases. After a disaster, water flows between fish ponds, increasing opportunities for fish disease transmission. There is a hidden risk of fish disease outbreaks in aquaculture ponds. Strengthening fish disease prevention and treatment is the foundation for achieving high and stable yields in ponds throughout the year@#@233@#@. In the three months of July, August, and September, use 1-3 g of norfloxacin per 100 kg of fish mixed into feed, continuously feed for 3 days, once a month; while feeding medicated bait, use insecticides to kill parasites, and on the third day after disinfection use a disinfectant once. For ponds where dead fry are found, promptly ask technical personnel for diagnosis and treatment to reduce losses.

4. Apply EM bacteria. Using EM bacteria can increase the number of beneficial bacteria in the water body and inhibit the reproduction of harmful bacteria, thereby reducing the probability of disease in pond fish.
