Prevention and Treatment of Common Bacterial Diseases in Fish
1. Hemorrhagic disease
Causes: Deterioration of water quality at the bottom of the fish pond, low dissolved oxygen, high levels of harmful substances, poor aquaculture management, or feeding moldy and inferior bait can all trigger this disease.
Prevention and treatment methods: Strengthen feeding management and carry out comprehensive prevention. Use medications regularly; dibromohydantoin, bromochlorohydantoin, herbal extract preparations, etc. can be used to disinfect the water body; or use beneficial bacteria such as photosynthetic bacteria to purify water quality; add immunostimulants to the bait, and use zeolite powder and nitrite degrading agents to absorb and degrade harmful substances such as ammonia, nitrogen and nitrite in the water. After the disease occurs, apply effective medications to kill parasites, and use dibromohydantoin and bromochlorohydantoin to disinfect the water body. While spraying the disinfectant, feed medicated bait, adding 1.5 grams of bioactive additives per kilogram of feed, and feed continuously for 5 days.
2. Enteritis disease
Causes: Deterioration of the water environment, low dissolved oxygen, feeding deteriorated feed, and decreased resistance of the fish body are all triggering causes. This disease occurs mostly from April to September.
Prevention and treatment methods: Adopt a combination of external disinfection and oral medication for prevention and treatment. Disinfectants such as bromochlorohydantoin or dibromohydantoin can be used to disinfect the aquaculture water area; add immune polysaccharide Haizhenbao or Yubide to the bait to enhance the fish body's immunity and control the disease.
3. Gill rot disease
Causes: Caused by direct contact between the fish body and pathogenic bacteria, and infection is more likely especially after mechanical damage to the gills. This disease can occur within the range of 15 to 30°C, and the higher the water temperature, the more likely it is to occur.
Prevention and treatment methods: Avoid injuring the fish body during handling; soak and disinfect with medicated water when releasing fry; after the disease occurs, use Yubide or dibromohydantoin for whole-pond spraying to prevent and treat it.
4. Red-skin disease
Causes: Injury to the fish body from manual operations such as fishing, transportation and stocking, or mechanical damage, frostbite and parasite infestation can all cause the disease. This disease can occur and spread in all four seasons.
Prevention and treatment methods: Be careful when catching and stocking to avoid injuring the fish body; before overwintering, use disinfectants such as bromochlorohydantoin to disinfect the pond water and deepen the pond water. After the disease occurs, promptly use a combination of insecticides and disinfectants to treat the water body, and orally administer medications such as natural plant extracts for treatment.
