Autumn water temperatures are suitable, making it the peak season for fingerling growth. The following tasks should be carried out well in autumn fingerling management. 1. Timely pond clearing. After 2 to 3 months of fingerling cultivation, pond water quality tends to deteriorate, natural food organisms decrease, and harmful substances such as hydrogen sulfide and pathogenic bacteria increase. After the beginning of autumn, fingerlings should be transferred to ponds that have been cleared and disinfected for cultivation, purifying the aquaculture environment. 2. Scientific feeding.

Autumn climate is suitable, fingerlings have a large food intake and grow rapidly, so feed supply must be guaranteed. For fingerling ponds mainly stocked with herbivorous fish species and supplemented with silver carp and bighead carp, green feed should be the main feed, with appropriate supplementary concentrated feed. Each day per 10,000 grass carp fingerlings, feed 70 to 90 kg of duckweed and tender aquatic plants, and 1.5 to 2.5 kg of concentrated feed. For polyculture ponds of silver carp and bighead carp, fertilizer must be applied once every 10 to 15 days, with 70 to 90 kg of fermented human and animal manure per mu, maintaining pond water transparency at 30 to 35 cm. For fingerling ponds mainly stocked with silver carp and bighead carp and supplemented with grass carp, fertilizer application should be the main method, with feeding as a supplement. In addition to applying base fertilizer, apply topdressing once every 5 to 10 days, with 80 to 100 kg of decomposed human and animal manure per mu. Each day per 10,000 fingerlings, feed 2 to 4 kg of concentrated bait and 50 to 70 kg of green feed.

3. Separate cultivation management.

Fingerlings should be reasonably separated for cultivation according to different sizes, ensuring that fingerlings stocked in the same pond are of uniform size. Fingerlings over 16 cm can be stocked in adult fish ponds for supplementary culture, while smaller fingerlings need to be cultivated in dedicated ponds to avoid competition for food.

4. Regular pond inspection.

During the fingerling cultivation period, pond inspection must be carried out daily to observe the fish's feeding and living conditions, pay attention to water quality changes, frequently exchange new water, and add and exchange new water once a week. Also frequently clean the feeding area, promptly remove residual bait and debris, and every half month splash 0.5 kg of bleaching powder dissolved in water around the feeding area, regularly feed medicated bait, twice a month, each time for 3 consecutive days. Sick fish and dead fish found should be promptly removed and deeply buried.
