Correct Methods and Precautions for Mixing Fishery Drugs

Livestock Farming 0 views
With the increase in the variety of fish species stocked in polyculture ponds and the rise in stocking density, the chance of different fish diseases occurring simultaneously in different fish in the pond has greatly increased. In general, the effect of using a single fishery drug is poor, while the method of mixing fishery drugs can significantly improve the therapeutic effect. 1. Principles of mixing. Do not affect the chemical stability of the active ingredients of the drugs; do not increase toxicity, and the ideal effect is to increase efficacy without increasing toxicity; the drug effects should be reasonably matched and complement each other's advantages; do not increase the cost of medication. 2. With the increase in the variety of fish species stocked in polyculture ponds and the rise in stocking density, the chance of different fish diseases occurring simultaneously in different fish in the pond has greatly increased. In general, the effect of using a single fishery drug is poor, while the method of mixing fishery drugs can

significantly improve the therapeutic effect.

1. Principles of mixing. Do not affect the chemical stability of the active ingredients of the drugs; do not increase toxicity, and the ideal effect is to increase efficacy without increasing toxicity; the drug effects should be reasonably matched and complement each other's advantages; do not increase the cost of medication.

2. Precautions. (1) When mixing fishery drugs, first conduct a test in a small water body or test container. (2) Prepare and use immediately; if drugs need to be diluted or dissolved, they should first be diluted or dissolved separately and then mixed. (3) Reasonably choose or reject drugs according to their acidity and alkalinity. (4) The types of mixed drugs and the number of times of mixing should be minimized as much as possible to avoid increasing costs and polluting the water body.

3. Examples of mixing methods. (1) Mix copper sulfate and ferrous sulfate at a ratio of 5:2, and splash the mixture over the whole pond at a concentration of 0.7 ppm to prevent and treat some protozoan parasitic fish diseases. Ferrous sulfate is an auxiliary drug and has an astringent effect, mainly to clear obstacles for copper sulfate to kill parasites. (2) Add 20 kg of 0.3% ammonia water to each kg of rhubarb, soak the mixture for 12 hours, dilute with water, and splash it over the whole pond to prevent and treat viral hemorrhagic disease, bacterial gill rot disease, white head and white mouth disease and other diseases in fish. Among them, ammonia water is a synergist and can improve the efficacy of rhubarb.

4. Fishery drugs that must not be mixed. (1) When using bleaching powder for disinfection, avoid mixing it with quicklime, because the activity of hypochlorous acid and its ions in a strongly alkaline solution is reduced by 50% compared with that in a neutral or weakly acidic solution. (2) When using trichlorfon, alkaline drugs must not be added, to prevent the formation of the more toxic dichlorvos, so as to avoid poisoning humans, livestock and fish.
