3. Prevention and treatment: Avoid strong movements when catching, and prevent jumping from the vehicle during transport. In the early stage, the following prescriptions can be selected for application:

(1) External application medicine:

① 2 parts vinegar, 1 part quicklime, mix well, 1-2 times daily.

② 50-100 grams of chives plus 100-50 grams of liquor, crush and apply externally.

③ An appropriate amount of yellow gardenia, add glutinous rice or @#@245@#@ flour, mash together, and apply to the affected area.

④ 75 grams each of frankincense and myrrh, 100 grams of gardenia, 25 grams of safflower, add an appropriate amount of vinegar and mix well, wrap and apply to the affected area.

⑤ 5%-10% iodine tincture.

In the later stage, fried hot bran plus liquor or vinegar can be wrapped and applied as a hot compress, changing once every 2-3 days. Or use 431 liniment (4 parts 10% camphor alcohol, 3 parts ammonia liniment, 1 part turpentine) to apply to the affected area, 1-2 times daily.

(2) Oral blood-activating medicine: see "Fractures and Dislocations." For pain relief, intramuscular injection of metamizole (30% 3-5 milliliters) or compound aminopyrine (2-4 milliliters) can be used. For severe pain, 1% procaine hydrochloride 2-5 milliliters can be injected at the pain point.

In the early stage of a sprain, a water bag or cloth wrapped with ice cubes can be applied locally, or the affected limb can be immersed in a bucket or plastic bag filled with ice water. Alternatively, 2 parts aluminum acetate, 1 part alum, 350 parts water can be applied locally with absorbent cotton or a towel to control the development of inflammation. In the middle and later stages of a sprain, hot compress is mainly used, applying hot water locally 3 times a day, or applying 5%-10% concentrated iodine tincture, and 0.5% procaine can also be used for local block. Some people use 25 grams of ground beetle and 50 grams of sweet melon seeds, grind into powder, and take orally in 2 doses.
