Characteristics: The plant is short, thick and sturdy, with a plant height of 90-100 cm and very weak tillering ability. The leaves are short, thick and tubular, with curved tips, covered with a waxy bloom on the surface, and dark green. A single plant has 5-6 functional leaves, with thick and fleshy leaf tissue, relatively blunt leaf tips, and tightly arranged leaves. The upper part of the scallion white is slightly slender and light green; the lower part is relatively thick and large, and white. The scallion white is 25-30 cm long, with a base diameter of 3.3-6.5 cm, slightly curved, shaped like a chicken leg. A single plant weighs 250-750 g, with a maximum weight of 1 kg. It has a strong pungent flavor, a fine, dense, firm and white texture, and excellent quality. It is suitable for cooked dishes and for use as filling. It takes 110-140 days from planting to harvest. It has strong cold resistance. The yield is about 5,000 kg per mu.

Cultivation points: Suitable for cultivation throughout the country. Choose a plot that has not been continuously cropped for 3 years, apply 2,500 kg of farmyard manure per mu, plow shallowly and harrow finely, level the land and make beds, then broadcast 5 kg of compound fertilizer or 5 kg of urea per mu. In Zhangqiu, Shandong and other places, sowing and seedling raising are carried out in late September. After 90 days, when the scallion seedlings have 2-3 leaves, they overwinter. In late June of the following year, they are planted in furrows, with a furrow spacing of 80 cm and a plant spacing of 5 cm, planting 17,000 plants per mu. The sowing rate for seedling raising is 0.6-1.0 kg per mu. After planting, pay attention to drainage, topdressing, hilling, and irrigation, etc., and harvest can be carried out in November.
