What preparatory work needs to be done before raising pigeons?
With the continuous development of the breeding industry, especially in recent years, the breeding industry has developed very rapidly, and at the same time many emerging breeding projects have appeared, and pigeon breeding is one of the most popular projects. So for novice breeders who are just starting out, what needs to be prepared before raising pigeons? Let me tell you below.

1. Site selection
Where the breeding site should be built is also a relatively important issue to consider in the early stages of breeding. Whether the breeding site is chosen correctly also lays the foundation for successful breeding to a certain extent. Pigeons are timid, so a relatively quiet place is generally chosen, and at the same time the local water, electricity and transportation should be relatively convenient. Next, the local environment should be free of pollution and far away from crop planting areas to avoid pesticide hazards. The terrain of the breeding site should be relatively high, but generally fairly flat.
2. Pigeon house construction
Pigeon breeding is divided into two modes: caged pigeons and free-range pigeons, but either way, a pigeon house must be built. For caged pigeon houses, a single-story building can be used, with pigeon cages set up inside the house, and it can be divided into three-dimensional breeding, with the height of each layer being about one meter. At the same time, we need to equip the breeding site with other recreational areas to ensure the physical and mental health of the pigeons. For free-range pigeons, we can build a greenhouse and equip it with breeding facilities; the pigeon shed height can be about two meters to two point five meters. Finally, whether caged pigeons or free-range pigeons, we all need to install ventilation openings in the breeding site to keep the indoor air circulating.
3. Selection of breeding pigeons
The selection of breeding pigeons is a very basic condition for successful pigeon breeding. When we usually go shopping, we also see many people selling pigeons on the street, but in fact most pigeons sold in this way have no guarantee of safety and health, and if it is for large-scale breeding, it is best not to breed in such places. Second, when buying breeding pigeons, do not covet cheap prices; go to regular places with disease-free testing certificates to buy them. The size of the breeding pigeons should be relatively uniform, not too large or too small. Finally, the breeding pigeons should be relatively active, have a good appetite, and have a high egg production rate.
4. Equipment configuration
Equipment configuration refers to the preparation and setup of some equipment used to raise pigeons in the breeding site. Generally, there should be feed troughs, water troughs, pigeon nests, perches, warming equipment, vaccines, medicines, and so on. These are the basic equipment that must be configured. Of course, there is also the preparation of feed, which is essential, otherwise what would the pigeons eat? Finally, an exhaust fan also needs to be configured, because sometimes manual ventilation is also needed. Lastly, there is also the bedding material to be used in winter.
The above is what I want to tell you today about some of the things that need to be prepared before raising pigeons. I believe everyone should have gained some understanding of this, and I also hope my article can help more friends who love raising pigeons.
