A detailed guide to black-bone chicken farming techniques, teaching you how to raise black-bone chickens well
Black-bone chickens have a farming history of several hundred years in China, originating in Jiangxi, and were later widely farmed because of their excellent nutritional value. Whether used as an ingredient or for medicinal supplementation, they are an extremely outstanding choice. So how do you raise black-bone chickens? Let's learn about it together below.

1. Chick management
The brooding period for black-bone chickens is relatively short, generally lasting one month. Within one day after hatching, the chicks must start eating. Feeding during the first week must be very refined, and the food is best cooked food that has been treated at high temperature, so it is easy for the chicks to digest. After one week, chick feed can begin to be given, controlled at about 6 times a day. Keep water available in the water trough at all times, preferably warm water, especially during feeding. Keep the temperature of the brooding room above 25°, and block sunlight, because young chicks are afraid of light.
2. Adult chicken management
After one month, the chicks have basically passed the brooding period, and adult chicken management can gradually begin. Change the feeding schedule to timed feeding, controlled at about 3-4 times a day. Keep the number in each chicken pen at about 80-100, so they have sufficient space for activity. In their resting area, bedding can be added according to the season to keep them warm. For some that like to peck chickens, they can be raised separately from other similar chickens to reduce the harm they cause to other black-bone chickens.
3. Feeding management
For adult chicken feeding, more concentrated feed should be used to supplement nutrition. Cornmeal, grain meal, wheat flour, soybeans and the like are relatively commonly used high-quality feeds and can be mixed together for use. Regularly add some trace element substances to the feed to improve the health of the black-bone chickens. When feeding, pay attention to feeding a small amount each time, and wait until they finish eating before feeding the next batch. The feeding time can be controlled within one hour. Every 2-3 days, feed fresh vegetable leaves, green grass and similar substances once to maintain the vitamins the black-bone chickens need.
4. Hygiene management
Hygiene is an unavoidable part of farming black-bone chickens, and it is mainly divided into food and drinking water hygiene and chicken coop hygiene. Food and drinking water hygiene means that places such as feed troughs and water troughs must be cleaned regularly and disinfected, and spoiled feed must not be fed, and unidentified feed must not be fed, just to be safe. Chicken coop hygiene mainly focuses on cleaning up feces on the ground, and bedding must also be cleaned regularly and not allowed to pile up. The cleaned feces should be kept away from the chicken coop and located downwind of the chicken coop, which can effectively prevent the occurrence of diseases.
The above is a general process for farming black-bone chickens. If you want to raise black-bone chickens well, it still takes quite a lot of time, and attention must be paid to all aspects. Especially in terms of disease prevention, everyone must be extra attentive.
