To double your freshwater shrimp yield, remember to feed them like this

    >>Freshwater shrimp are omnivorous and rather greedy eaters. When it comes to feeding, keep these three points in mind:

    1. Match feed combinations and feeding to the nutritional needs of freshwater shrimp at each growth and development stage.

    2. Feed according to the living habits and feeding characteristics of freshwater shrimp.

    3. Feed rationally according to weather, water quality changes and the shrimp's activity and feeding conditions.

    >>Feeding methods for freshwater shrimp

    1. Match feed combinations and feeding to the nutritional needs of freshwater shrimp at each growth and development stage. At the juvenile and young shrimp stages, freshwater shrimp feed on rotifers, cladocerans, copepods and aquatic insect larvae, while at the adult stage they also eat both animal-based and plant-based feed. After shrimp fry and shrimp stock are stocked, fertilizer should be applied in good time to build up water fertility. During the rapid growth stage of freshwater shrimp from August to October, feed more wheat bran, soybean cake and green fodder, with an appropriate amount of animal-based feed. From November to December, before the freshwater shrimp overwinter, animal-based feed should be the main feed.

2.Feed according to the living habits and feeding characteristics of freshwater shrimp.Freshwater shrimp are mostly active and forage at night, and they have the habit of competing for food and overeating. Stick to feeding once in the morning and once in the afternoon every day, with the afternoon feeding as the main one, accounting for 70% of the daily feed amount; adopt the method of feeding with fixed quality, fixed quantity and fixed timing, feed enough and evenly, make sure every shrimp eats its fill, and avoid competition for food.

    3. Feed rationally according to weather, water quality changes and the shrimp's activity and feeding conditions. The suitable water temperature for freshwater shrimp growth is 20-32°C. From August to October, freshwater shrimp eat a lot, and the daily feed amount can be set at 6%-10% of the shrimp body weight in the pond, with dry feed or compound feed calculated at 2%-4%, and adjusted appropriately according to weather, water quality and the shrimp's activity and foraging conditions. During continuous rainy weather or when the water is too thick, feed less; when the weather is clear and fine, feed a little more; when a large number of shrimp are molting, feed less, and after molting feed more; during the season when shrimp are diseased, feed less, and when growth is normal, feed more. Let the shrimp eat their fill and eat well, while also reducing waste and improving feed utilization.
