Short-term fattening method for beef cattle to gain 400 jin net weight in 50 days

How to make beef cattle plump, sturdy, tender and tasty with a net weight gain of about 200 kg in 50 days is a matter of great concern to cattle farmers. When cattle-raising costs are reduced, the benefits are better. The key points of this short-term beef cattle fattening technique are introduced as follows:

Beef cattle

    I. Do a good job of deworming

Cattle harbor many kinds of parasites, such as roundworms, nematodes, schistosomes, tapeworms and cysticercus larvae, which seriously affect the growth and development of beef cattle. Before fattening, parasites inside and outside the body of the beef cattle must first be eliminated. You may choose 150-250 tablets of broad-spectrum, highly effective and low-toxicity albendazole and administer them directly by drenching, or use 20-30 mg of bithionol powder per kg of body weight, mix it into the feed and administer it; both give good results. For external parasites, simply smear the affected parts with a 1%-3% aqueous solution of trichlorfon.

    II. Supplementary feeding.

The focus is on supplementing feed mixed with urea.

The daily ration formula is: 500-600 g corn, 800-1000 g rice bran (wheat bran), 100-120 g urea, and 50 g each of calcium carbonate or bone meal and salt. The above is the reference feeding amount for each cow per day, given in three feedings in the morning, at noon and in the evening. At each feeding, feed the feed first, and after an interval of 1 hour let the beef cattle drink water fully.

The key points are: the daily concentrate feed amount for each beef cattle should be raised from 750 g to 1000 g, and urea from 100-120 g to 150 g (when ammoniated feed is used, no additional urea is added), and provide sufficient high-quality green grass, dry hay or ammoniated straw feed for the beef cattle to eat freely, with eating their fill as the ideal. If conditions permit, an appropriate amount of night grass can also be fed at 10 p.m. each night, which is beneficial to fattening. In addition, to create a good environment, cull beef cattle are tethered with a short rope of about 1 m, fed with feed in troughs and basins, and the forage should be cut into short sections of 3-5 cm, so as to limit the movement of the beef cattle to the greatest extent and reduce physical energy consumption.

III. Urea should be used to ammoniate straw-type feed.

The method is: cut the straw into short sections within 15 cm, and according to the ratio of straw, water, urea and lime of 100:50:4:3, dissolve the lime and urea in water, then sprinkle it on the straw, mix well, cover with plastic film, and seal the edges with thin mud; ammoniation is completed in only 2-3 weeks. Feeding beef cattle this way increases feed intake and digestibility by 20%, and increases crude protein content by 1-2 times, giving better results.
