In September, fish enter the peak growing season: a detailed explanation of comprehensive management measures for adult fish
Every year, September is the peak growing season for fish. During this period, the air temperature is high, the water temperature is suitable, and feed is abundant. Doing a good job of management during this period can achieve the goal of high fish yields.

Pond management
1. Fertilizing based on water conditions:Patrol the pond at all times, observe the water color, and fertilize reasonably according to changes in water color. If the water color turns black, transparency is relatively low, the water has an unusual smell, and the pond fish are severely gasping at the surface, stop applying fertilizer and promptly add and replace new water. If the pond water is yellowish-brown, with transparency of about 20 cm, the pond water fertility is suitable, and fertilizer can temporarily be withheld. If the water color is light and transparency is relatively high, increase the amount of fertilizer applied. For ponds mainly raising silver carp and bighead carp, the method of fermenting mixed human and livestock manure to fertilize the water can be used to increase the plankton in the pond water.
2. Feeding concentrated feed:For ponds mainly raising omnivorous fish such as common carp and tilapia, feed mixed concentrated feed such as cornmeal, rice bran, wheat bran, soybean cake, and soybean residue, as well as fresh plant feed such as vine leaves, tender grass, and green vegetables. Feed 3 times a day in the morning, at noon, and in the evening, with larger feeding amounts in the morning and evening and less at noon. The daily feeding amount is about 2-3% of the total pond fish biomass.
3. Adding new water:In summer and autumn, when the water temperature is too high, the decomposition of organic matter in the pond accelerates, oxygen consumption increases, and the pond water is prone to oxygen deficiency and deterioration. At this time, it is necessary to frequently add and replace new water to increase the dissolved oxygen content in the water, maintain a pond depth of about 2 m, and keep the water temperature at 23-29°C, so as to facilitate the normal growth of fish.
4. Preventing disease:September is the peak growing season for fish and also a season with a high incidence of fish diseases, especially bacterial gill rot, saprolegniasis, and grass carp enteritis. The incidence rate is relatively high. Therefore, fish ponds should be frequently disinfected with quicklime, and feeding moldy or spoiled feed is prohibited. To prevent explosive fish disease and prevent and treat grass carp enteritis, Chinese chives and garlic bulbs can be mashed and added to green feed to feed the fish.
