Precautions for raising black-boned sheep

Black-boned sheep are suitable for raising in the southern regions of our country, because the climate in the south is relatively mild, so the cost of building a farm will be much lower. Black-boned sheep are a relatively rare breed in our country, and their nutritional value is high. The whole body is a treasure; they can not only be eaten but also used as medicine. They are a nationally first-class and internationally recognized health food, and their economic value is very considerable. So what do you need to pay attention to when raising black-boned sheep? Let's take a look below.

1. Seed selection

The price of black-boned sheep is much higher than that of ordinary sheep, so when choosing breeding sheep you must be very careful, because if the breeding sheep are not well chosen, the loss will be very large. Generally, we should choose sheep with strong limbs and a relatively well-proportioned body, a long and powerful neck, and ewes with a relatively wide abdomen that must not sag, ears that cannot always be upright, and at the same time relatively glossy eyes, as well as a good appetite, relatively active but gentle-tempered sheep as breeding sheep. The survival rate and later reproductive capacity of breeding sheep raised in this way will be much higher.

2. Diet

In terms of diet, the main thing we need to pay attention to is not letting them eat frozen grass, grass with dew on it, or moldy and spoiled grass and feed. At the same time, the drinking water must also be relatively clean and must not be polluted, and the water must be changed frequently. You cannot just wait until they finish drinking the water in the trough before adding more. In other respects, the quality of the concentrated feed must also be guaranteed, and the concentrated feed must not be changed frequently, otherwise it will cause discomfort in the flock. Finally, generally feeding twice a day is enough, and the amount each time should not be too much. They must not be allowed to overeat, otherwise it will cause gastrointestinal discomfort and lead to rumen impaction.

3. Grouping

During the process of raising black-boned sheep, reasonable grouping management should be carried out, as this is beneficial to the growth and development of black-boned sheep. Generally, rams and ewes should be raised separately, so as to avoid improper mating when rams or ewes are in heat, which would affect their later reproductive capacity and cause a loss that outweighs the gain. Secondly, grouping should be carried out according to the strength of the black-boned sheep's growth, ensuring that weak sheep are not harmed by strong sheep, causing unnecessary losses.

4. Grazing

Grazing is very important in black-boned sheep farming, so there are many things we need to pay attention to when grazing. When grazing in spring, we mainly need to prevent black-boned sheep from chasing green grass, accidentally eating poisonous grass, and causing poisoning. Secondly, it is not suitable to graze in the morning in spring, because there is more dew on the pasture, which can easily cause black-boned sheep to have diarrhea. When grazing in summer, the main purpose is to prevent heatstroke in the flock and do a good job of mosquito prevention. When grazing, it should be done early or later, and at the same time more water should be given. Autumn is very suitable for grazing, so they must be grazed to satisfaction and grazed well, while grazing in winter mainly requires attention to keeping warm, and grazing should be carried out when the sunshine is relatively warm.

5. Cold protection

The work of cold protection is mainly in winter, because the temperature in winter is relatively high. Although there is more wool, the ability to resist cold is still not very good, so in autumn we should fatten the sheep so that they can smoothly make it through the whole winter. At the same time, at the Beginning of Winter, repair the places in the farm that leak wind and rain, and place forage or replace the bedding with warm bedding in the farm. All of these can achieve the effect of heat preservation and cold protection.

6. Hygiene

Sanitation management of the farm is also a place that requires special attention. Basically, the farm must be cleaned once about every week, and every half month the farm needs to undergo a comprehensive and thorough disinfection, including the feed troughs and water troughs, which must also be disinfected. Secondly, food residues must be cleaned up in a timely manner every day.
