Technical Points for Raising Ground Beetles with Biogas Residue
The ground beetle is one of many traditional Chinese medicinal materials. In traditional Chinese medicine it has a rather pleasant name, tuyuan, and it actually appears frequently in our daily lives, for example in die da wan pills and swelling-reducing ointments. It is commonly used to treat bruises and injuries, reduce swelling and dissolve blood stasis, relieve pain and reduce inflammation, and it can also treat coronary heart disease and has a certain therapeutic effect on tumors, so its medicinal value is extremely high. So today, follow the editor to learn how to raise ground beetles using biogas residue.

1. Breeding Preparation
Before raising ground beetles, we need to make adequate preparations, and at the same time we should be careful not to trust others and buy adult insects when purchasing seed insects; it is best to buy insect eggs or newly hatched larvae. Because biogas residue is used for breeding, we first need to build the breeding pool. The width of the breeding pool is about 80 to 1 m, the height is about 50 to 60 cm, and the width is about 60 to 70 cm. It can be built with bricks, or a hole can be dug and then plastered with cement. To prevent the ground beetles from escaping, we can also place more than one layer of escape-proof netting around it. Before breeding, the breeding pool also needs to be thoroughly disinfected before stocking.
2. Feed Formulation
Since biogas residue is used to raise ground beetles, the main component of the feed is biogas residue, but some other bait also needs to be added to maintain the nutrients the ground beetles normally need. The biogas residue used to prepare the feed can only be biogas residue that has already fermented for one and a half months. First we need to air-dry the biogas residue, then take some leaves, fruit peels, vegetable leaves and sand, pile these together with the biogas residue and stir evenly. The biogas residue component accounts for about 60 percent, and the rest is reasonably allocated according to specific conditions.
3. Feeding Management
First we need to spread the prepared feed evenly in the breeding pool at a thickness of 20 cm, and then the ground beetles can be put into the breeding pool for rearing. In the first two months after the ground beetles are put into the breeding pool, there is no need to put any feed in, because during this time they mainly feed on the feed in the breeding pool. After the feed is almost consumed, it can also be added in an appropriate amount, and at this time foods such as green vegetables, leaves, corn, wheat bran and soybean meal can also be provided. These ground beetles also very much like to eat them, but they should not be given in excess.
4. Daily Management
The daily management of ground beetles is relatively simple. The more important parts are the management of the temperature and moisture of the feed in the breeding pool, as well as management during the egg-laying period. The most suitable temperature for ground beetle growth is about 25 to 38 degrees. It is a very strange creature: at a high temperature of 40 degrees it will not die of heat, and at a low temperature of minus several tens of degrees it will not freeze to death. But in order for the ground beetles to grow and develop better, we can spray an appropriate amount of water into the feed and properly adjust the temperature of the breeding pool. When the ground beetles are laying eggs, we should sieve the feed in the breeding pool about once every week, so that the insect eggs in the feed can be screened out for cultivation.
