Detailed Guide to Winter Broiler Chicken Farming Management Methods
Broiler chickens are one of China's economic industries, and broiler farming is also very common in China; almost every rural household raises some. However, household farming usually involves just a few birds for personal consumption. When farming on a large scale, some broiler chickens always die during winter due to poor management. So how should management be carried out when raising broiler chickens? Today, the editor brings you winter broiler chicken management methods. Let's take a look!

1. Chicken Coop
Winter temperatures are very low, and broiler chickens have weak resistance to low temperatures, so we must strengthen the sturdiness of the chicken coop. Promptly repair places in the coop that may let in cold drafts to prevent the chickens from catching colds. Replace the bedding in the coop, take good measures for cold protection and insulation, and reasonably control ventilation in the coop during winter.
2. Disinfection
When temperatures are too low, the flock basically cannot be free-ranged, so during winter they spend most of their time in the coop. Therefore, before overwintering, we must do a thorough disinfection of the chicken coop, and thoroughly clean or replace all daily-use items such as water troughs and feed troughs used by the flock. This reduces pathogens and lowers the incidence of disease in the flock.
3. Disease Prevention
Although the incidence of disease in the flock is not high in winter, it is also a peak period for some diseases, such as colds. Based on factors such as weather conditions, the surrounding environment, and the characteristics of various disease outbreaks, we must do a good job of preventing all diseases, administer vaccinations properly, and prepare prevention and treatment medications to ensure nothing goes wrong.
4. Drinking Water
Drinking water for broiler chickens in winter is relatively important, because when temperatures are lower, the water temperature also drops accordingly, so we must control the water temperature well when providing water. Raise the water temperature to normal temperature. Water demand is relatively high in winter, with drinking volume being about twice that of feed. Water supply should also not be too much, because it may cause dampness in the chicken coop.
