How to raise herring well? Sharing practical aquaculture technical points
Herring is also called black carp, and now herring has also achieved artificial breeding, so many herring varieties have appeared. In China, most herring still comes from the Pacific region, so it is also called Pacific herring. A while ago, canned herring became popular for a time on Go Fighting!, and many people wanted to try whether it really smells that bad. Many internet celebrities were also asked to eat canned herring, so today let us take a look at how artificial herring farming is done.

1. Farming preparation
Since herring is a saltwater fish, it can only be farmed in areas near ocean waters. That is to say, herring farming mainly still uses cage aquaculture technology. We need to choose a suitable sea area and the texture of the farming cages according to the living habits of herring, then place the cages into the farming area according to the specific conditions of the herring, and lay them out according to different depths. This is conducive to raising herring in groups. Also note that the cages need to be disinfected. Finally, what must be done is to install red tide alarms to prevent natural disasters.
2. Fry cultivation
Herring fry are relatively fragile at the beginning and need to be cultivated for a period of time before they can be put into cages for large-scale rearing. First, we need to disinfect the place where the fry are raised. Second, pour in an appropriate amount of livestock manure. After three or four days, put the fry into the breeding pond. At this time, the fry mainly feed on soybeans, so we need to grind soybeans into soybean milk or soybean powder, and add an appropriate amount of feed and stir it for feeding. Except in winter, they need to be fed at least four or five times a day, while in winter once or twice a day is enough. Finally, when the fry grow to seven or eight cm, they can be stocked.
3. Fry stocking
Before the fry are stocked, the cages need to be disinfected, and then the fry can be put in. The density of rearing in each cage needs to be reasonably planned according to the size of the fry and the area of the cage. Generally, the maximum cannot exceed 1,500, but the minimum cannot be lower than 100, otherwise how would you make money? In order to maintain water quality and make full use of the farming space, we can also stock an appropriate amount of silver carp.
4. Feeding management
The feeding habits of herring are somewhat similar to those of tilapia, so the feed for herring farming is basically similar to that for tilapia, only the feeding amount is different. Second, an appropriate amount of crude protein feed also needs to be given, that is, foods such as coarse grains. Feeding two to three times a day is enough. Feed a reasonable amount according to the size of the herring, changes in weather, and their feeding conditions. At the same time, do not give herring spoiled or poor-quality feed, as this will cause the herring to die.
5. Daily management
First, we need to pay attention to feed hygiene when putting in feed. Second, after the herring eat, the food residue in the water should be cleaned out in time. Then, note that feeding must be done at fixed times and fixed locations. Also, reasonable fertilization should be carried out according to the specific conditions of the water body to cultivate plankton. At the same time, note that the cages should be cleaned and disinfected irregularly. Finally, prevent natural disasters, keep up with weather changes in time, and make preparations for disaster prevention.
