What are the common types of hare farming models?

Hare farming models

As hare farming grows in scale, all kinds of farming methods keep emerging and being discovered one after another. At present there are 4 mainstream farming methods, which basically suit the various current farming environments. If you want to learn about these 4 farming methods, you can read the article below carefully; the editor will introduce them to you one by one.

1. Enclosed-pen farming

Enclosed-pen farming was the first solution people came up with to preserve the wildness and vitality of hares, fully imitating the hare's living environment. First, you should choose a relatively flat area; it does not matter if there is a small dirt slope, but this place must have few creatures such as snakes. Then start building the fence according to the area you want. The requirements for the fence are very high: it must be sturdy, and it is best to build it in two layers, with wire mesh on the inside and a layer of wooden railing added on the outside, with the lower part of the wooden railing sealed off. Finally, place some rabbit burrows inside to provide rest and shelter from wind and rain.

2. Indoor cage farming

Indoor cage farming is a method people came up with for convenient management, imitating everything about domestic rabbit farming at the time. This method can raise the survival rate to a certain extent, but the incidence of disease will increase somewhat, and the quality of the hares will also be somewhat lacking. Place the hares in each rabbit cage and feed them at fixed times every day, carrying out scientific management. The hares raised in the end will have a dull feel, lacking liveliness, and their wholesale appearance will be a bit worse. If you plan to make up for the price gap with quantity, or if there is no suitable wild farming environment locally, this counts as a decent choice.

3. Combination of enclosed pen and rabbit house

This model was developed by combining the above two models, and its terrain requirements are moderate. Enclose and raise the rabbits in the area around the rabbit house, with the rabbit house as the core, so that the rabbits have both an activity area and a stable resting place, and can be switched to indoor farming in bad weather or in winter. It is currently a fairly common model. However, this requires relatively more management time, because both the rabbit house and the enclosed area must be cleaned and checked every day, and at every feeding you also have to check whether any hares have not come out of their cages, so the labor load is also relatively large.

4. Free-range farming

This is a method developed by some farmers for natural hares, and it is very close to enclosed-pen farming. First choose the land; after choosing it, build a fence, but you must not destroy the flowers, grass, and trees in it. Instead, you should plant some vegetables or grasses that hares can eat. In the middle, you can build some rain shelters according to where the trees grow, and there is no need to specially build rabbit burrows. During farming, let them survive and reproduce naturally; except when problems arise, let them develop naturally the rest of the time. You only need to put out some food occasionally. The farming quantity in this method should not be too large; if there are too many, this environment cannot be maintained for long.

The above is an introduction to the 4 hare farming models. You can take a good look at which method suits you better. At present, the prospects for hare farming are fairly considerable.
