Key Points of Feeding and Management Techniques for Rabbit Farming
Even if you have never seen a rabbit, you have certainly heard of them. Rabbit farming can be divided into many directions, such as pets and meat rabbits. Nowadays, quite a few people raise meat rabbits. Rabbits are very cute, but also very fragile. Many people fail to manage them well when raising them, which greatly reduces the survival rate of the rabbits. Therefore, doing a good job in the feeding and management of rabbit farming is the key. So how should they be managed? Let's take a look together below!

1. Keep Quiet
Rabbits are rather timid, so during the raising process you must keep the surroundings of the farm quiet. Sudden noises may frighten the rabbits, causing a drop in their appetite and hindering their growth and development, and it is even more harmful to pregnant does. After being frightened, pregnant rabbits may miscarry or give birth prematurely, or does in the nursing period may refuse to nurse. This seriously affects the nutritional intake of the young rabbits and greatly impacts their growth.
2. Heat Dissipation and Cooling
Rabbits have thick fur that provides good warmth, allowing them to adapt very well to low-temperature environments. Adult rabbits can withstand temperatures as low as zero degrees or even lower. As long as the temperature does not drop below five degrees, does can reproduce normally. But precisely because of this, rabbits are very afraid of heat. If heat is not dissipated in time in a high-temperature environment, it can easily cause heatstroke in rabbits. Moreover, rabbits cannot sweat and cannot dissipate heat through sweat glands, so we must promptly do a good job of dissipating heat and cooling the rabbits.
3. Eating at Night
The lifestyle of rabbits is slightly different from that of humans. Although they need to eat during the day, after eating they generally do not move around but sleep or rest directly in their cages. But at night, rabbits become very active, and their food intake becomes much greater than during the day. Their nighttime food intake accounts for 3/4 of the whole day's intake, so we should persist in feeding them more at night.
4. Living Habits
Rabbits have an innate nature of digging burrows, whether raised artificially or in the wild. Especially when raised in a free-range manner, rabbits usually dig burrows to give birth before they begin to reproduce. Therefore, we should take this into account when building rabbit hutches, and try to build them on hillsides or hilly areas. The soil must not be too dry and hard, to avoid the rabbits being unable to dig burrows.
5. Raise Them Separately
Raising rabbits separately is very important during the breeding process, because once rabbits reach adulthood they develop a certain territorial awareness. When raised together, chasing and fighting between rabbits of the same sex often occurs, especially between bucks, where the probability is even greater. So try to place one buck and one doe in each cage. This not only avoids fights between the same sex but also increases the breeding rate among the rabbits.
The above are the feeding and management methods for raising rabbits. Note that you must never raise rabbits of the same sex together. Although the problem occurs more seriously among bucks, it also happens among does. Therefore, in order to avoid this behavior, the practice of raising them separately should be implemented.
