What are the control methods for mole crickets on Chinese roses?

Nursery Stock 0 views
Symptoms: This disease mainly affects the branches and stems of Chinese roses, causing cankerous lesions on the branches and stems. At first, they are small red spots, which then expand and darken, and may turn brown. In the later stage, the lesions become sunken and split longitudinally, black spots may appear on the diseased area, and in humid conditions black spore masses emerge. In severe cases, the lesions girdle the stem, and the branches below the diseased area shrink and die...
Morphological characteristics: The adult is 4.5 cm long, black or dark brown, with dense fine hairs all over the body. There is a dark red spot in the center of the pronotum. The forelegs are stout and adapted for digging. There are long cerci at the rear of the abdomen. The wings are often folded over the back. The egg is oval, yellowish white when first laid, and gradually turns yellowish brown. Newly hatched nymphs are milky white and become yellowish brown after the 2nd instar. Generally, one generation occurs every three years, overwintering underground as adults or nymphs. Adults are phototactic and phonotactic, and begin activity in March to April. Damage is severe in April to May. Adults mate and lay eggs in June, and nymphs hatch in July, feeding and causing damage until October. The mole cricket is one of the underground pests, mainly gnawing roots and stems, and often tunnels through the soil, causing plant roots to dehydrate and die.
Control methods: (1) Use black light traps to kill adults. (2) To avoid providing a living environment for mole crickets, organic fertilizer must be fully decomposed before use; (3) Pour 40% omethoate 1000-fold solution onto the affected plant parts. (4) Use 50 grams of 90% crystalline trichlorfon, mix with roasted fragrant bait, add water to make a poison bait of suitable dryness and moisture, and scatter it around the plant roots or in the pot. All can achieve good control effects.
