What Do Snakes Eat? An Introduction to Common Food Types
What do snakes eat?

Studying a snake's feeding habits before keeping one helps ensure a supply of food for the snake being raised. Snakes mainly eat live animals, including everything from lower invertebrates and earthworms, slugs, snakes, birds, fish, frogs, lizards and insects, and even small mammals. A few snakes also occasionally eat dead animals in addition to live prey, but they do not eat rotting animal carcasses.
