How promising is quail farming? A comprehensive analysis of market potential

Because quail have strong reproductive capacity, fast growth, a short raising cycle, low farming costs, high nutritional value and good economic returns, they have attracted attention from countries around the world and become a main direction for the global poultry industry. They are hailed as “the future of the poultry industry in the 21st century”, and the prospects for quail farming are bright.
The market prospects for quail farming are broad
Although quail farming in China has a relatively short history, it has developed rapidly. At present, the number of birds raised is about 200 million, making China the world's largest quail-raising country. In addition to supplying high-end hotels and restaurants, domestic quail products are also processed into canned goods, preserved eggs and the like, and are widely loved by consumers.
Quail products have high economic value
Quail meat and eggs are highly nutritious, containing rich protein and vitamins. They are an excellent nutritional tonic and are known as the “ginseng” of the animal world. Quail can also be used as medicinal and ornamental birds. Long-term consumption has certain therapeutic effects on arteriosclerosis, high blood pressure, neurasthenia, tuberculosis and hepatitis.
Quail farming is simple, easy to carry out and low in risk
The reason the quail farming industry can develop rapidly is that it has four advantages:
① Low input. Quail farming does not require much space; they can be raised in front of or behind the house. Even for large-scale quail farms, the land and buildings required are much less than for other poultry. Because multi-tier cage equipment is used inside the house and stocking density is high, investment in buildings, facilities and capital is much lower than for other poultry. It also does not require heavy physical labor. In addition, domestic quail have strong adaptability and disease resistance, so epidemic prevention expenses are also very low.
② High output. Whether egg-type or meat-type domestic quail, they mature in 40 to 50 days. Meat-type quail can reach 220 grams at 42 days of age, consuming only 700 grams of feed; egg-type quail lay about 270 eggs a year, with a total weight of 3000 grams, 20 times their body weight.
③ Fast capital turnover. Because quail have a short raising cycle and require little capital input, the working capital occupied per bird does not exceed 1.6 yuan. Compared with other poultry, capital turnover is much faster.
④ Low risk. Because domestic quail farming has the above advantages, it is not easy to suffer economic losses in operation, and there is no need to bear too great a risk.
The market for quail farming is good
The cost of raising one quail from chick to laying stage is only a little more than 1.5 yuan. By the time they reach laying maturity, 1000 quail, calculated at 850 to 900 eggs laid per day, can yield a daily profit of about 70 yuan.
