What is the lifespan of the fire rose tarantula?

The fire rose tarantula is a red spider originally from Chile, with an adult length of about 14-15 cm, a red carapace, and it is a species very similar to the Chilean rose tarantula. The main difference is that they look redder, with a red carapace rather than pink. However, the popularity of this species is far lower than that of the Chilean rose tarantula. Let's take a look below at how long the lifespan of the fire rose tarantula is!

What is the lifespan of the fire rose tarantula?

The fire rose grows slowly and needs 2 years to reach adulthood. Its normal lifespan is around 12 years, but due to the influence of living environment, diet and other aspects, there are also actual differences in lifespan. For pet fire rose tarantulas kept at home, if the owner can provide healthy care and scientific feeding, then the fire rose tarantula can certainly live a long life.

Is the fire rose tarantula venomous?

Venomous. Almost all spiders are venomous, and tarantulas are all venomous, but the venom of the rose is very mild. If bitten, there will only be a little redness and swelling, a slight burning sensation and pain, all very mild. For adults, after being bitten, taking some anti-inflammatory medicine and washing with soapy water is enough. It is best to squeeze out the venom, disinfect with alcohol, and then apply the juice of aloe vera to the surface (it has a very good itch-relieving effect). If you do not have it, you can also do without.

Feeding methods for the fire rose tarantula

1. The fire rose tarantula is a terrestrial spider and makes a ground web (a thin layer of web used to cover the ground). For bedding, dry soaked and expanded coconut brick is sufficient, but small spiderlings need half of the bedding to be moist. A water dish and a hiding place are indispensable. If raising small spiderlings, there is no need to add a water dish, so as to prevent the small spiderlings from falling into the water and dying.

2. The feed of the fire rose tarantula mainly consists of crickets, cockroaches, mealworms and superworms. If crickets are used to feed spiderlings, or for the first feeding one week after molting, the cricket's mandibles should be removed or its head should be crushed with tweezers, so as to reduce its mobility and ensure the spider's safety. If it is a very small spiderling, mealworms can also be cut into segments for feeding.

3. The growth rate of the fire rose tarantula is not considered fast, so raising it from a small spiderling to adulthood takes about three years, but in this way you can gain more sense of achievement and the joy of the spider's molting and growth.
