Money Tree Root (Stem) Rot
Symptoms: the stem base down to the roots turns dark brown, rots, and the young leaves lose vigor and wither.
Prevention and treatment methods: (1) Ventilate promptly and keep the growing environment dry. (2) Pay attention to disinfecting the growing medium and flower pots. (3) After transplanting, remove the bruised and rotted tissue at the top of the roots, then spray the wounds with procymidone, let them dry, and plant. (4) In the early stage of the disease, spray the aboveground parts every 10 days with a 1000-fold dilution of 50% thiophanate wettable powder, or an 800-fold dilution of 70% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder; drench the underground parts 2 to 3 times with a 400- to 600-fold dilution of 70% mancozeb wettable powder. 5. If Pythium is active, spray with propamocarb, hymexazol, or ethylicin.
Money Tree Leaf Blight
Symptoms: dark brown spots appear initially, with gray or dark brown centers resembling sunscald; over time, black powder can be seen on the spots.
Prevention and treatment methods: (1) Remove diseased leaves promptly when found and destroy them. (2) Strengthen care and management, watering and fertilizing in a timely manner; during each growing season, apply 2 to 3 foliar fertilizer applications, such as 0.5% monopotassium phosphate or a 200-fold dilution of dual-effect micro-element fertilizer. (3) In the early stage of the disease, use a 800-fold dilution of 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder, or a 600-fold dilution of 50% thiophanate wettable powder, or a 800-fold dilution of 50% carbendazim wettable powder, or a 1500-fold dilution of 75% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder.
