How to Build an Ecological Pig Farm? A Full Breakdown of the Construction Plan

With today's social development and technological progress, the question of where our pig farming industry should go is no longer something we can deliberate over or choose; building resource-efficient, pollution-free ecological pig farms has become the only path for the development of the pig farming industry. All that lies before every one of us in the trade is to seriously think about and explore how to put it into practice. Below, let us take a look together at the ecological pig farm construction plan!
The Current State of Modern Pig Farming
Pig farming inputs are housing and equipment, feed, water, labor, energy such as coal, electricity and oil, and disease prevention and treatment medicines and instruments (all of which consume resources directly or indirectly); the products are breeding pigs and meat pigs, and the waste is manure, urine and sewage, stench, harmful gases, dust and microorganisms (improper treatment and use will inevitably cause severe environmental pollution).
Characteristics of Ecological Pig Farming
1. Green products: the products ecological pig farming provides to people are pollution-free, residue-free, wholesome and hygienic products beneficial to human health.
2. Harmless production: the entire production process of ecological pig farming generates no pollutants harmful to the environment. Animal manure, urine, sewage and other waste are converted into useful resources. Ecological pig farming does not pollute the environment, and the environment does not pollute pig farming.
3. Systematic resources: various resources are combined systematically to form an efficient biological production system centered on pigs, so that natural resources and socioeconomic resources are rationally and fully utilized.
4. Biological diversity: besides considering the pig as an animal, ecological pig farming also fully considers many other organisms. As for pigs themselves, breed diversity is also maintained.
Construction of an Ecological Pig Farm
1. Pig house: a pig house is generally 4-6 m wide, 8-20 m long, with columns 1.8-2 m high and a roof height of about 3 m. It faces south with its back to the north, and the roof should be well designed for thermal insulation and heat shielding to aid warmth retention in winter and heat insulation in summer. The roof is fitted with windows that can be opened and closed freely, sunlight can reach one third of the entire pig bed area, and large windows or roll-up curtains can be installed on the north and south walls, so that from sunrise to sunset every corner of the pig bed can be reached by sunlight; this allows the microorganisms inside the pig house to grow and reproduce suitably.
2. Greenhouse shed: the span of a pig-raising greenhouse shed is generally 4-5 m, the length is 20-25 m, the surrounding railing is 1.0-1.2 m high, the shed can be supported by hollow bricks and other materials, and the shed height is generally 2.7-3.0 m. Steel bars, cement and other materials can be used, with the top covered by plastic film, woven fabric, straw curtains, etc. No walls are built around the greenhouse shed; in summer it is effectively a cool shed, and in winter, once the plastic film is lowered, it becomes a warm enclosure, warm in winter and cool in summer, providing pigs with a good growing environment.
3. Pig pen: usually each pig pen has a net area of about 25 sq m and can house 15-20 meat pigs. Generally each pig occupies 1.2-1.5 sq m. Dig down 50-90 cm below ground level.
Summary: Under the current state of our country's pig farming industry and the trends of social development, only by building ecological pig farms, doing a good job of pig-raising greenhouse shed construction, and taking the road of a resource-efficient, pollution-free circular economy model can farmers raise the technological content of pig farming, improve pig farming production levels, product quality and safety, and create higher economic, environmental and social benefits. Ultimately, they will set foot on the path to true success.
