How do you raise scorpions? Master these nine tips
Scorpion farming is a specialty breeding project that has gradually become popular in recent years. The reason is that scorpions can be served as a dish and are also a very valuable medicinal material. Demand is growing ever larger, and more and more people want to raise them. But if the farming techniques mastered are not mature enough, the economic returns from farming will still not be high. Below, Qinong Web will introduce some small tips for scorpion farming.

1. Introduce breeding stock from nearby
Because different regions have different temperature, soil and other environmental factors, if the distance for introducing breeding stock is too great, the scorpions will not adapt to the environment and die. Therefore, if you are raising scorpions for the first time, you must go to a nearby scorpion farm to introduce breeding stock.
2. Minimize startling them
Although scorpions have a powerful tail, they are actually very timid animals. If the scorpion nest is turned over frequently, it will frighten them, causing the scorpions to scurry around and not return to the nest, and in the end they will stop eating and drinking and die.
3. Food must be fresh
Scorpions have the habit of cannibalism. In fact, this can be reduced or even avoided. If fresh, live insects can be provided to the scorpions, cannibalism will rarely occur, so the feed problem must be solved first.
4. Care during pregnancy
Scorpions usually give birth in midsummer. If male and female scorpions are still kept together at this time, the female scorpions will miscarry because they cannot find a quiet place to give birth, and the male scorpions will also eat the newly born baby scorpions. Therefore, when pregnant scorpions give birth, they must be kept separately and kept quiet.
5. Care during the birthing period
After the mother scorpion gives birth, the baby scorpions need to climb onto the mother's back and stay there for a period of time, until after their first molt, before they can normally come down to the ground and survive. If the mother scorpion and baby scorpions are left together for more than 10 days without feed and water being supplied, once the mother is hungry and thirsty, she will mercilessly eat the baby scorpions.
6. Raising young scorpions
After young scorpions go through their first molt, they will come down from the mother scorpion's body. At this time, the young scorpions' appetite will increase greatly, and they need to eat one small insect each day. However, because young scorpions are very weak at catching prey on their own, if the feed given is too large and the young scorpions cannot kill it, the young scorpions will engage in cannibalism. If there are not enough small yellow mealworms or other small insects, it is very difficult for young scorpions to grow into adult scorpions.
7. Escape prevention measures
Although scorpions cannot fly, their crawling ability is very strong. No matter which raising method is used, the surroundings must be well enclosed and sealed with wide transparent tape, glass strips or plastic sheeting, so the scorpions cannot take the opportunity to escape.
8. Prevent water immersion
A scorpion's respiratory and reproductive systems are both located in the lower part of its body, so it absolutely must not be soaked in water. Normally, add water during the daytime, and do not add too much at one time; it is enough for the soil to be somewhat moist. To provide drinking water for scorpions, just use a small dish holding a few pieces of water-absorbing sponge or cotton. Generally, replacing the water once a week is enough. Do not let scorpions drink spoiled water for a long time, otherwise the scorpions will get sick and die.
9. Prevent rodent damage
Because scorpions themselves are venomous, they do not have many natural enemies. However, if scorpions are in a state of hibernation in winter, they basically have no ability to resist mice; in summer, mice will likewise compete to eat feed such as yellow mealworms or ground beetles. Therefore, rodent prevention work must be done well.
