How to farm river snails for high yield
The delicious taste of river snails is a childhood memory for many rural friends, and today they have become a widely loved delicacy. Some people have spotted the business opportunity in this and joined the ranks of river snail farmers. But some friends feel their river snail output is not ideal, so today Qinnong Web will introduce some tips for high yield.

1. How to choose the site
Many friends think that simply choosing a place with fertile soil and a soft bottom is enough, but in fact this is far from sufficient. When farming, you must carry out composting; for farmland, bury it directly into the soil, and for ponds, you can spread some chopped grass so it settles into the bottom of the pond. Second, the chosen site should not receive too many hours of direct sunlight per day, and it is best if there is shade around it. Finally, before farming, the soil needs to be prepared for three months in advance to ensure water penetrates thoroughly into the soil and the soil is in a soft, mushy state.
2. Water source selection
Many people recommend water that is clear to the bottom as the best, but actually that is not the case. First, this lets sunlight shine directly on the river snails, and second, there is not enough plankton, which greatly affects river snail growth. The water source should flow slowly into the farming site, preferably through multiple inlets, and the water quality should be normal natural flowing water, ideally flowing in from other fields, as this water is rich in microorganisms. Second, the water temperature should be kept at around 15-25°C; when it is too hot, you can widen the inlet gaps to increase water inflow, and when the weather is mild, just keep the water in the farming site slightly circulating. At this time the river snails grow fastest.
3. Feeding management
Generally, to ensure the river snails have enough food, some plants are usually grown in the farming pond. This can both improve water quality and provide shade and food. River snails eat little, so they are generally fed once every two days, preferably in the morning. There are many things to feed them, and generally wheat bran, tofu residue and other coarse grains are the main foods. Occasionally, small fish, shrimp and animal offal need to be added to supplement what the river snails need for growth. Each feeding amount should be one third of the river snails' weight.
Generally, river snails can be sold after four months. Everyone's farming methods are about the same. Our methods for increasing production require more effort on the details. The details above are the places people usually pay less attention to, and we hope that after improving some of these aspects, you can produce the yield you want.
