Bamboo partridge farming methods

The bamboo partridge has relatively high nutritional value and economic benefits. It has strong vitality and adapts very well to the environment, so it is very suitable for artificial farming. The bamboo partridge is not very large, but its meat is relatively thick and its bones are especially small. The nourishing effect of one bamboo partridge can match that of three large hens, so it is very popular in major hotels. So how should bamboo partridges be raised well? Below, let us learn together with Qinnong Network.

1. Farming environment

Because the bamboo partridge is a wild rare bird, its farming environment cannot be compared with that of ordinary poultry. In addition to building a chicken coop, there also needs to be a lawn or woodland area specifically for the bamboo partridge's outdoor activities. Next, the chicken coop must be kept clean, and the manure and debris in the chicken coop must be cleared out on time. Finally, the drinking troughs and feed troughs in the chicken coop must be separated and cannot be shared.

2. Chick selection

Although the bamboo partridge has strong survival ability, for later high yield and survival rate we also have certain requirements for selecting bamboo partridge chicks. First, we need to observe whether the feathers of the bamboo partridge chicks are glossy. Second, observe whether the beaks and claws of the bamboo partridges have moisture and show no signs of drying out. Finally, look at the activity signs of the bamboo partridges to see whether they are relatively active. Bamboo partridge chicks selected in this way are easier to raise.

3. Feeding methods

The newly purchased bamboo partridge chicks need a period of careful care so that they can adapt to the new environment more quickly. We need to use fluorescent lights inside the chicken coop to maintain the indoor temperature, especially at night when the temperature is relatively low, as this can provide warmth. Next, during this period they are generally fed several times a day, and the amount of feed put out each time does not need to be large, mainly wheat flour. After half a month, this can be combined with free-range raising. At this time they can go out to forage on their own, but external food cannot guarantee their growth, so we can put out feed at fixed times and fixed points, about three times a day, mainly with a formula of corn flour, fish meal, wheat flour, and so on. Of course, some fresh maggots can also be fed, which can increase yield.

4. Reasonable vaccination

The bamboo partridge has relatively strong immunity, but when bamboo partridges are kept in groups, bacterial infection can still occur, so we must regularly inject vaccines into the bamboo partridges, which can provide a good preventive effect. Under normal circumstances, after the bamboo partridges are bought back and raised for one week, we need to inject them with a vaccine once to enhance the bamboo partridges' own immunity. Next, at around seventy days, they need to be injected with a vaccine again to avoid bacterial infection. Finally, according to climate changes, reasonable vaccines should be given to them at regular times.

5. Precautions

During the raising of bamboo partridges, some poor practices will lead to an increase in the mortality rate of bamboo partridges, so we must reduce these unnecessary losses. First, the raising density of bamboo partridges should not be too high, because not only will the chicken coop be crowded, but disease can also easily occur and cause death. Under normal circumstances, about twenty-five to eighty birds are raised per square meter, and they should be grouped according to the different stages of the bamboo partridges. Second, newly bought chicks need twenty-four-hour lighting so that the survival rate can be ensured. Third, the indoor temperature should be maintained at around twenty degrees. Finally, prevent natural enemies such as rats and cats.
