Precautions for centipede farming

We all know that centipedes are extremely venomous, but we also know that their medicinal effects are very good. Most friends living in rural areas have seen a relatively small type of centipede. This kind of centipede is not especially venomous, but if you get bitten by it, it is still very troublesome, so the adults at home never let children touch them. Therefore, although centipedes are very expensive, many people are still unwilling to farm them because it is too dangerous. So today Qinnong.com will share with you a few issues that need attention in centipede farming, hoping to help everyone.

1. Seed selection

The centipede is a relatively venomous creature, but if you want good medicinal effects, then the more venomous the centipede variety, the better. Even so, centipedes also have gentle moments. As long as you do not provoke them, everything will be fine. So how do we select seeds? First, we need to observe whether the centipede's skin has been damaged or has scars. Second, observe whether the centipede's legs are complete. Third, observe the centipede's daily activity. Finally, use a tool to test the centipede's aggressiveness. We should choose centipedes with strong venom, strong activity, a sound body and relatively gentle temperament for farming. This can avoid a lot of unnecessary harm.

2. Temperature

The centipede's survival ability and ability to adapt to the environment are both very good, but if centipedes are to achieve high yields, then they need a suitable temperature for growth. Generally, it is around 29 to 32 degrees. The temperature for centipedes to forage should be around 25 to 30 degrees, so that centipedes can grow and lay eggs normally. The minimum temperature of the rearing environment must not be lower than 10 degrees; below 10 degrees they will die. But the temperature also must not be higher than 40 degrees. Under 40-degree conditions, useless work will stop growth, so temperature regulation is also very important.

3. Density

The density of centipede rearing must be reasonable. If the farming density is too high, centipedes will attack each other, especially for some thinner and smaller centipedes, this is a disaster. Second, if it is too crowded, then the probability of disease occurrence is greater, and there are more pests and diseases, making management more difficult. So our general farming density is 600 to 800 adult centipedes per square meter. If they are young centipedes, then the rearing number can be increased further, but after they grow up they must be separated to ensure the optimal density per square meter.

4. Management

During rearing, we should attach a layer of plastic film all around. Second, whether around, at the bottom, or even on top, preventive measures must be taken to prevent centipedes from escaping. If your prevention is not done properly, then the centipedes will escape. Second, during rearing, the living environment must be kept clean, otherwise it is also easy to cause bacterial infection, so we need to clean it about once a week. Then, feed must also be given great attention. Try to choose feed that helps digestion. Although centipedes themselves are quite toxic, you still must not feed them food containing pesticides. Also, if you find sick centipedes, isolate them in time to prevent other centipedes from being infected. Finally, during rearing, you must pay attention to safety. Relevant antidote medicines need to be prepared at the farm, so that once an accident occurs, timely treatment can be carried out, which can reduce the risk to a certain extent.
