Reasons why chicks won't eat and how to solve it
Many farmers always run into a series of problems when raising newly hatched chicks. Experienced farmers can tell at a glance that something is wrong with a chick's body, and it is often the case that chicks stay motionless or can't stand steadily with weak, limp legs. Besides these common problems, there is also the issue of chicks not eating. What is the reason? Below, Shuaishuai will explain the solutions to everyone!

I. Solutions
First we need to prepare the materials: penicillin, oxytetracycline, furazolidone, sulfaguanidine and other medicines.
1. Add 200 to 400 mg per kilogram to the feed given to the chicks, then stir the feed evenly, feed the stirred feed to the chickens, keep this up for seven days, then stop for three days and feed for another seven days.
2. Use 200 mg of oxytetracycline per kilogram of chicken body weight and feed it to the chicks, or add two to three grams of oxytetracycline per kilogram of feed, mix well and feed to the chickens, using it three to four times in a row.
3. Give each chick that won't eat 2000 international units of penicillin mixed into the feed, and continue for seven days.
4. Add 10 grams of sulfaguanidine or use 5 grams of sulfadiazine per kilogram of feed, mix well and feed, and continue for five days.
II. Points to note
1. Generally, this phenomenon is also closely related to the time of purchasing the chicks. When buying chicks, we should pick the livelier ones. If any are listless or can't stand steadily, do not buy them, as these are problematic chicks.
2. When raising chicks, the breeding density must not be too high. It is best to keep the chick density at 30 birds per square meter. Too high a breeding density will worsen the environment and limit their range of activity. In addition, if one gets sick or an epidemic breaks out, it will cause the others to be infected quickly as well, resulting in huge losses.
3. The environment inside the farm must be well controlled, and the temperature and humidity should be kept suitable. Temperature requires special attention, because newly hatched chicks have very low body temperature and very low resistance, so maintaining a temperature of around 33°C is essential, which is good for their growth.
The above are the solutions for chicks not eating. Have you all learned them? In fact, the main thing is to do a good job in daily management, because daily management is very important. Also, when buying chicks at the start, you should choose good, healthy chicks, so that the survival rate is high and their resistance is good.
