How to handle chicken manure from poultry farms? Introduction to common methods
Chicken farming is a project found in rural areas everywhere, and poultry farms keep springing up in all regions, so chicken manure has also become a headache for many poultry farms. How should so much chicken manure produced every day be handled? Not handling it will seriously affect the growth of broiler chickens, and disposing of it carelessly will lead to complaints about environmental pollution. Below, Qinnong Network brings you several solutions.

1. Composting into organic fertilizer
Using chicken manure directly as organic fertilizer is currently the most straightforward method. Collect the chicken manure produced daily, pile it up to ferment for a period, and then transport it to the land for use as organic fertilizer. Chicken manure itself is a product with very high fertilizer value; it contains many trace elements needed for plant growth, and after fermentation its fertility can also be greatly improved. If conditions permit, you can also set up a dedicated composting site to sell this fertilizer and obtain higher profits.
2. Processing into feed
Processing into feed is a technology that has only gradually emerged in recent years. People have found that dried chicken manure, combined with corn stalks or rice husks and similar materials, can be processed and used as feed to raise pigs, sheep, fish and similar creatures, and the results are fairly good, not inferior to concentrated feed in some respects. Of course, you can also directly use sunlight to ferment and dry it, then grind it into powder and add it during feeding. Remember that the proportion of chicken manure in feed should not exceed 15% at most, and when it is directly sun-dried and mixed for feeding, it should not exceed 12%. It is recommended to process it into feed before feeding; feeding it directly after sun-drying is much less safe.
3. As raw material for biogas digesters
This is a relatively common method in recent years. Biogas can be used to make fires, and biogas residue can be used as fertilizer, so it can be said to make fairly comprehensive use of the value of chicken manure. You only need to regularly send the chicken manure into the biogas digester. This method can greatly reduce the smell of chicken manure, and the fermentation time in a biogas digester is also very fast; it can be completed in half a month to a month, so chicken manure will not accumulate over the long term.
4. Direct feeding
Direct feeding may still be relatively rare at present, but some places have already verified the feasibility of directly feeding chicken manure. This method has high requirements for timing, and generally you should try to choose fresh chicken manure. It is mainly used to feed pigs or fish. For pigs, each addition should account for 10% of the feeding amount, and no more, since more easily increases the incidence of disease in pigs. For fish, there are fewer requirements; semi-dry is also fine, and it can be directly put into the fish pond.
The above are some ways to handle chicken manure. At present, methods for handling chicken manure are still being researched and developed, and better methods should appear later. Chicken manure from poultry farms still needs to be handled properly; the country is now enforcing this area more and more strictly, so everyone must pay attention.
