What are the key points to note when raising Sanhuang chickens
The Sanhuang chicken has tender meat, a rich flavor, and is rich in nutrients. It enjoys a high reputation not only domestically but also abroad. There is very large market demand, and the breeding area around the world is also growing larger and larger. However, as more and more people raise them, many problems have also appeared in breeding. Most are caused by improper management. So what should be noted when raising Sanhuang chickens? Let's take a look below!

1. Drinking water
Water is an indispensable nutrient for raising Sanhuang chickens. During the growth process of Sanhuang chickens, the amount of water they take in is about three times that of the feed grain, and the amount of drinking water will increase as the temperature rises. Therefore, ensuring sufficient and clean water is an important factor for successfully raising Sanhuang chickens. After the chicks enter the coop, the chicks should first be manually guided to drink water. The water should be around 20°C and contain 5% sugar. They can only eat three hours after drinking the water. In the first week, the drinking water every day should be kept at around 20°C, with an appropriate amount of vitamins added. Enough drinking utensils should be set up, and the height of the drinking utensils should gradually increase as the chickens grow. They should not be filled too full, to prevent water from overflowing and making the coop damp, which affects growth. The drinking utensils should also be changed and disinfected frequently.
2. Nutrition
The growth of any living thing requires abundant nutrition, and Sanhuang chickens are certainly no exception. Moreover, the nutrients required for the growth of Sanhuang chickens are relatively rich. During the breeding process, sufficient and comprehensive nutrition must be ensured. A lack of any one nutrient will cause abnormal reactions in Sanhuang chickens, especially some trace elements. The feed needs to be high in energy, rich in protein, and the proportions of various nutritional components must be appropriate and balanced. During the brooding stage, use powder feed or process the feed into crushed feed. During the fattening stage, it is best to use pellet feed. Do not restrict the amount of feed for Sanhuang chickens; let them eat freely until they stop eating. When the chicks reach one month of age, the number of feedings should be increased to stimulate the chickens' appetite and improve the quality of fattening.
3. Environment
The environment required for the growth and development of Sanhuang chickens is also relatively important. Chicks in the first week prefer high temperatures, and the most suitable temperature for their growth is between 30-35°C. After that, the surrounding temperature can be appropriately lowered each week of growth. After one month, control the temperature at around 20°C, but it must not be lower than 15°C. During the brooding period, the temperature fluctuation in the coop must not exceed 2°C. A slight temperature fluctuation can stimulate the chickens' appetite, increase their feed intake, and speed up their growth rate. Also, be careful to keep the humidity in the coop at 70%, in order to prevent the chicks from dehydrating. After half a month, the humidity can be controlled at 60%, but be sure not to make the coop too humid. A dry environment should be maintained, and attention should be paid to the ventilation of the coop. Create a clean, hygienic, and growth-suitable environment for Sanhuang chickens.
4. Light
When raising Sanhuang chickens, they should be given enough light time, mainly to extend the feeding time of Sanhuang chickens and increase their feed intake. Chicks from one to two days old should be kept under 24 hours of light. After three days, reduce it by one hour, and keep one hour of darkness at night, so that the Sanhuang chickens can adapt to an environment that suddenly has no light. The light intensity should be slightly stronger in the first seven days of brooding. Always observe the chickens' mental state and growth progress, as well as their feeding situation, feces, and so on. If any abnormal situation occurs, promptly check what the cause is and take corresponding measures.
The above points are several aspects that need attention when raising Sanhuang chickens, but there is one more point that needs attention, which is breeding density. When raising Sanhuang chickens, it is necessary to ensure that each chicken has enough average area for activity. No matter how many chicks there are, only a certain breeding density can be maintained in one area. This is the key factor in whether raising Sanhuang chickens succeeds or fails. Although the prospects for raising Sanhuang chickens are relatively good, there must be good breeding methods and techniques. I hope this article is helpful to everyone. Thank you!
