Fermentation Bed Pig Farming Method

The traditional pig farming industry causes very serious pollution to the environment, especially the pollution caused by free-range and small-scale farming. In many places, the state has also designated no-farming zones and prohibited free-range pig farming and small-scale pig farms. After a long period of research, there have also been many achievements in solving pollutants, but today the editor of Qinnong Network wants to share with you a new type of pig farming method, which is the fermentation bed pig farming method. Let's take a look together below.

What Is the Fermentation Bed Pig Farming Method?

The fermentation bed pig farming method is an eco-friendly pig farming method that solves several major problems in the traditional pig farming industry, namely pig manure water treatment, pork safety assurance, and farming cost issues. It mainly uses bedding material and manure for fermentation, using the decomposition method of microorganisms to break down manure. The entire decomposition process takes a relatively short time, and it no longer requires water to wash the pig farm and does not produce a manure odor. In fact, its main purpose is to solve pollution problems, and it can also be called the microbial decomposition method.

Farming Methods

In fact, the main difference between this farming method and traditional farming methods lies in the treatment of manure and urine as well as the construction of the farm. Other aspects of raising are more or less the same. First, before farming, we need to renovate the farm, choose a manufacturer with mature fermentation bed technology to customize the fermentation bed and all other equipment, then install the fermentation bed facing south with its back to the north. Each pig pen should be separated by fences into sections of about 30 sq m, and ventilation windows should be built and foam should be installed on the roof. In addition, each pig pen should have its own separate feeding trough and water trough. Once everything is ready, farming can begin. Other issues such as feed are more or less the same, so the editor will not go into more detail here.

Precautions

Fermentation bed pig farming does not mean it is invincible. When using fermentation beds for pig farming, we mainly need to pay attention to the following aspects.

1. Although the fermentation bed can decompose manure, it does not mean it can sterilize or kill insects, so newly introduced piglets must first be dewormed and disinfected before being placed on the fermentation bed.

2. We all know that pigs like to root around everywhere when they have nothing to do. If you want to achieve the best effect, it is best to place the manure underneath the bedding material, so that the speed and degree of decomposition will be better.

3. In order to maintain the activity of the fermentation bed, we generally need to spray the fermentation bed with an active liquid about once a month, which can increase the activity level of microorganisms and thereby speed up decomposition.

4. The moisture in the fermentation bed should not be too much, but at the same time it should not be too dry. If there is too much moisture, the decomposition capacity weakens and pigs are prone to catching colds and edema, while if it is too dry, it can trigger some respiratory diseases.
