Correct Fertilization Methods and Key Application Points for Boron Fertilizer

Boron participates in the distribution and transport of carbohydrates within the plant, promotes the growth of plant meristematic tissues, promotes the growth of plant vegetative organs and reproductive organs, promotes early maturity of plants, improves quality, and enhances plant stress resistance. It is one of the essential nutrient elements for plants.
Boron deficiency in rapeseed causes the phenomenon of "flowers but no seed"; the symptom of boron deficiency in celery is "cracked stem disease"; boron deficiency in grapes has a great impact on the fruit, causing uneven fruit size; boron deficiency in radish causes "brown heart disease".
Boron fertilizer is mainly borax, also called sodium tetraborate, with a content of 11%. Borax is white, semi-transparent prismatic crystals or glassy crystals, odorless, with a salty taste. Placed in dry air, it will gradually effloresce; it is soluble in water, and its saturated aqueous solution is alkaline.
Application methods for boron fertilizer: as a base fertilizer, generally 7.5-10 kg per hectare is appropriate; for seed soaking, the usual concentration is 0.02%-0.05%, soaking for 4-6 h, then removing and drying before sowing; for foliar topdressing, use a 0.1%-0.2% borax solution, generally requiring 2-3 sprays.
