Detailed Explanation of Fertilizer Application Methods and Dosages

After several years of investigation and practice, it has been found that due to continuous cropping problems, at garlic harvest time, most plots show varying degrees of yellowing garlic skin, cracked outer skin of garlic bulbs, thin skin on the garlic neck, resembling waterlogged rot, and after sun exposure becoming exposed-clove garlic or flowering garlic. The main cause of this phenomenon is unhealthy soil, in the soil...
At present, our country advocates the production and use of high-concentration fertilizers, which indeed has great benefits for improving fertilizer quality, reducing transportation costs, and preventing inferior products from flooding the market. However, as fertilizers develop toward higher concentrations, some drawbacks also arise.
First, it may go against the fertilizer requirements of crops, causing fertilizer waste and environmental pollution. When using high-concentration fertilizers, the amount applied per mu will inevitably decrease, especially since some farmers are accustomed to broadcast application, which will inevitably cause uneven fertilizer distribution or reduce the amount of fertilizer available to individual plants; we know that during the early stage of crop growth, at germination and seedling stage, fertilizer demand is reduced. At this time, the high-concentration fertilizer applied as base fertilizer is absorbed and utilized less, which easily leads to waste and environmental pollution, while during the vigorous period of vegetative growth and reproductive growth of crops, when large amounts of fertilizer are needed, fertilizer supply may be insufficient; if high-concentration fertilizers are applied in large amounts, it will not only cause waste and raise agricultural costs, but also reduce the quality of agricultural products. The harvest may be unable to enter the market due to excessive nitrate and other residues, ultimately failing to realize its value.
Second, it easily leads to deterioration of the soil ecological environment and causes the occurrence of physical diseases in crops. Because high-concentration fertilizers have relatively high purity, medium and trace elements are difficult to blend in. If organic fertilizers and medium and trace element fertilizers cannot be applied in combination, it will inevitably lead to deterioration of the soil ecological environment, the appearance of various crop deficiency symptoms and physiological diseases, and a substantial reduction in fertilizer return rate, directly affecting quality, quality, and cost.
Third, it will reduce the fertilizer return rate and raise agricultural costs. According to the current fertilization situation in rural areas, the application amount of macroelement fertilizers such as nitrogen fertilizer and phosphate fertilizer is no longer the main problem. The key issue is how to reduce the mutual antagonism among elements and improve fertilizer utilization rate. At this point, the shortcomings of high-concentration fertilizers will become clearly apparent.
Because almost all farmers know very little about the interactions among elemental fertilizers, it is impossible for them to proactively take adjustment measures. To achieve the goal of changing the relationships among elements from mutual antagonism to mutual promotion, we should mainly rely on science and technology departments and fertilizer manufacturers to adjust the proportions of elements during production.
