Spring fertilizer is applied in mid-March, accounting for 30% of the annual chemical fertilizer amount; summer fertilizer is applied in early June, accounting for 50% of the annual chemical fertilizer amount; autumn fertilizer is applied in late July, accounting for 20% of the annual chemical fertilizer amount; organic fertilizer is applied in winter. The annual fertilizer amount for one-year mulberry is 1/3 of that for mature mulberry, and the annual fertilizer amount for two-year mulberry is 2/3 of that for mature mulberry. One-year mulberry is fertilized by hole application, and mulberry gardens of two years or more are fertilized by trench application, with soil covering after fertilization.
