Calla lilies can bloom all year round; you can refer to the following methods for growing them:
Calla lilies mostly bloom in late autumn and early spring, and the flowering period can extend into early summer, while in midsummer the leaves turn yellow in large numbers, new leaves do not emerge, and the plant enters a dormant period, only sprouting again after the Start of Autumn. To make calla lilies break their ecological habits and bloom all year round, you can follow the methods below for care and management.

Repotting and changing the soil: To keep calla lilies blooming all year round, you should repot and change the soil twice a year, and you need to choose a larger pot to maintain sufficient nutritional area. The first repotting should be done in early April after the winter flowers have finished, and the second after the Start of Autumn. If the rhizomes have filled the whole pot, you must divide the plants, with no more than 3 leaf clusters per plant. The growing medium needs to be loose and breathable and have a certain water-holding capacity, and sufficient base fertilizer must also be applied to ensure a lasting supply of nutrients.

Light-shade care: Except during the dog days, for most of spring, summer and autumn, calla lilies should be kept in light shade for care; they cannot be exposed to direct sunlight, nor kept in complete shade. Before the rainy season arrives, water should often be sprayed on the ground to increase air humidity, and the potting soil should be kept moist and must not be allowed to dry out between waterings. Every 10 to 12 days, a dilute liquid fertilizer should be applied as a top dressing. Move them indoors in mid-October, after which they can get more sunlight; pay attention to ventilation to prevent pests and diseases.

Timely pruning: Calla lily leaves have a relatively short lifespan; after new leaves grow, the outer old leaves begin to turn yellow, and the yellow leaves should be cut off promptly. After the flowers fade, the spent flowers and flower stalks should also be cut off promptly, otherwise seed formation will consume nutrients and affect future blooming. When watering, do not spray onto the plant clump, to prevent the pruned areas from rotting and infecting the whole plant.

Maintaining temperature and humidity: Care in midsummer and deep winter is the key to whether calla lilies can bloom all year round. In mid-July of midsummer, the potted plants should be moved to a place with a draught, preferably fully shaded, and water should be sprayed on the ground 2 to 3 times at noon and in the afternoon to prevent heat and cool down. If the daytime maximum temperature does not exceed 30°C, they can continue to bloom. In winter, the room temperature should preferably be 16°C to 18°C, and must not be lower than 8°C. If the indoor air is dry, water should be sprayed around to increase humidity, to prevent the leaf edges from turning yellow; at the same time, light should be increased so that they bloom continuously in winter.
