How do you control the white peach scale on cherry blossoms? Please explain the methods
The white peach scale on cherry blossoms is mainly found in cherry cultivation areas and occurs commonly. Due to the currently suitable climate and high field humidity, it has become quite severe in some fields. The damage has already caused leaves to basically fall off, and the pest population is extremely dense, appearing pure white from near or far. It is estimated that the first-instar nymph stage of the white peach scale should be around the end of September. The first-instar nymph stage is the best time to carry out spray control. Each grower should strengthen field inspections and apply pesticide immediately if an infestation occurs, so as to keep the pest population base below the allowed economic level.
Control methods: during the nymph stage, spray with 1000-1500 times dilution of Sujieke, 1500-2000 times dilution of Supusha, or 150-200 times dilution of Jiemanling. Where the pest population density is relatively high, spray again after 7-10 days, and alternate the pesticides to prevent the scale insects from developing resistance. In addition, cherry trees with an especially high pest population density should be properly pruned, and the pruned material should be gathered and burned to prevent further spread of the infestation.
