The main diseases and control methods of jasmine during its growth period are as follows:

1. Stem rot:

This disease occurs at the base of the stem. In the early stage, the lesion is a brown spot, water-soaked. The lesion expands longitudinally into a stripe-like shape. The edge is dark brown, the inside is grayish brown, and in the later stage the lesion tissue rots and splits longitudinally, and black granular matter appears. This disease occurs year-round during the greenhouse maintenance period, especially severely in early spring. It also occurs from August to September when maintained outdoors. This disease is prone to occur in hot and humid environments.

Control methods:

1. When potting the flowers, spray with 0.2-0.4 degree lime sulfur mixture;

2. You can use a 600-1000 times dilution of 70% thiophanate to smear the lesion or apply

to the branches, or use a 500 times dilution of thiram, which also works well.

2. Jasmine leaf borer: The jasmine leaf borer is one of the main pests of jasmine. Its larvae feed on jasmine leaves, flower buds, small branches and new shoots. Once the bark of small branches is eaten, they die immediately, and seedlings die immediately after being damaged, seriously affecting the growth and flowering of jasmine.

Control methods:

1. In winter or early spring, remove dead branches from the plants and fallen leaves on the ground, and burn them in a centralized manner; thin the leaves appropriately to facilitate ventilation; promptly catch and kill the eggs, larvae and pupae on the leaves by hand.

2. During the growth period of jasmine, spray with a 6000 times dilution of 50% trichlorfon wettable powder, which has a very good control effect.

3. Carmine spider mite: The carmine spider mite, also known as the cotton red spider mite. It can damage many flowers and many greenhouse plants. Jasmine is one of the common damaged flowers. The leaves of the damaged flowers first show small yellow-white spots, gradually turn red and spread to the whole leaf, causing the leaves to curl, wither and fall off. This mite develops very quickly and causes serious damage, affecting the growth and flowering of flowers and trees.

Control methods:

In winter, weed and clean the flower nursery, and irrigate the nursery land, which can eliminate overwintering pest sources. During the period when red spider mites cause damage, spray with a 1500-2000 times dilution of 40% dicofol emulsifiable concentrate (or a 1500-2000 times dilution of 50% tetradifon wettable powder, or a 1000-1500 times dilution of 40% omethoate) for control, spraying once every 7 days, 2-3 sprays is enough, and the effect is relatively good. When spraying, spray the undersides of the leaves, and pay attention to spraying the inner branches and leaves of the middle and lower parts of the plant.

In addition, there are also diseases and pests such as southern blight. The specific methods can be used for control according to different situations.
