Lily root mites damage the base of lily bulbs, and the affected area can spread upward, causing the damaged bulbs to turn black and rot, the aboveground parts to turn yellow and wither, and the leaves to wilt prematurely, often accompanied by other diseases. Control methods: select bulbs that are disease-free, mite-free, and free of mechanical injury; burn dead branches and fallen leaves and diseased or pest-ridden plant residues in the field to reduce sources of disease and pests; after the bulbs are harvested and cleaned, place them in water at 39-40°C for a 2-hour water bath, which can kill the mites and their eggs; you can also use 1.8% abamectin and other products for soaking, then remove them, dry them in the shade, and store them; before sowing, soak the bulbs for 3-5 minutes in a 4000-fold solution of 20% pyridaben wettable powder plus a 1000-fold solution of 70% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder; you can also use 10% phoxim granules plus 2 kg of 50% dexon wettable powder or 0.5 kg of 50% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder to make medicated soil and apply it in the sowing furrow; in early to mid-April, drench with a 3000-fold solution of 20% saomanjing wettable powder plus a 300-fold solution of 5% junduqing aqueous solution or a 700-fold solution of 50% dexon wettable powder 2-3 times, with an interval of 15-20 days each time. The drenching must be done on a sunny day or a cloudy day when the soil is not waterlogged, and the surface soil must be loosened by hoeing before drenching, otherwise the effect will be poor.
