The following introduction on how to apply summer fertilizer to tea plants is for reference:
After the spring tea is picked, the plant's nutrients are consumed in large amounts, the new shoots stop growing, and root growth intensifies, so fertilizer should be applied in time to replenish the plant's nutrients. According to experiments, generally for every 100 kg of dry tea harvested from a tea garden, 10 kg of pure nitrogen should be compensated to maintain the original soil fertility level. If an yield of 150 kg of dry tea per mu is expected, 15 kg of pure nitrogen should be applied, of which 5 kg is used as base fertilizer and 10 kg as topdressing. Organic fertilizers such as rapeseed cake, compost, barnyard manure, green manure, etc., applied as base fertilizer every year or every other year, can be applied in alternate rows and combined with phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. In tea garden fertilization, the number of topdressings can be appropriately increased, so that the seasonal distribution of available nitrogen in the soil is relatively balanced, and more nutrients can be absorbed at each growth peak, thereby helping to increase the annual yield. For two applications per year: 60% before spring tea and 40% before summer tea. For three applications per year: before spring tea, summer tea, and autumn tea, apply 40%, 30%, and 30% respectively, or 50%, 25%, and 25%, with a nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium ratio of 2-4:1:1. Generally, for each mu of tea garden, apply 15 kg of urea, 11.5 kg of ordinary calcium superphosphate or calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer, and 7.5 kg of potassium chloride in the summer fertilizer. Combined with loosening the soil and weeding in the tea garden, dig a small trench 12-15 cm deep along the outer edge of the tea plant canopy drip line, apply deeply, and cover with soil immediately. It is best to finish applying the summer tea fertilizer in early June.
