The harm viral diseases do to tree peonies:
Peony ringspot virus produces concentric ring spots of alternating dark green and light green on the leaves, along with small necrotic spots, and the plant does not become stunted; TRV also causes ringspots or ring patterns of varying size, sometimes irregular in shape, while PLCV causes obvious stunting of the plant, with the lower branches thin and twisted, and the leaves yellowing and curling.

         How viral diseases spread:
Tree peony viral diseases are spread by aphids; they can also be transmitted by sap inoculation, and nematodes, dodder and tree peony seeds can all transmit the virus; they are also spread by grafting.

Prevention and control methods for tree peony viral diseases:
         1. Do not use diseased plants as propagation material. When diseased plants are found, they should be removed promptly.
         2. Control the virus-transmitting aphids early. Clear away surrounding weeds to reduce sources of infection.
