Aloe vera is originally a tropical plant and is naturally afraid of cold. But it is also an easy plant to grow and keep alive. Of course, to make aloe vera grow fast and propagate abundantly, it must be carefully cultivated according to its characteristics.

Aloe vera likes to grow in loose soil with good drainage that does not easily become compacted. In ordinary soil, some gravel and ash residue can be mixed in, and it is even better if leaf mold and grass ash can be added. Soil with poor drainage and aeration will obstruct root respiration, causing root rot and necrosis, but excessively sandy soil often causes the loss of water and nutrients, resulting in poor growth of aloe vera.

Aloe vera is afraid of cold. If the temperature is below 0°C, it will suffer frost damage. Growth stops at around 5°C. The most suitable temperature for its growth is 15°C-35°C, and the humidity is 45%-85%. Using greenhouses for heat-preserving cultivation will solve the problem of overwintering for large-scale aloe vera planting in northern regions.

Aloe vera, like all plants, needs water, but it is most afraid of waterlogging. In rainy and humid seasons or when drainage is poor, the leaves are very likely to shrivel and the branches and roots to rot, even leading to death.

Aloe vera grows fastest at around 15°C-35°C. From March to October in our country, most regions meet this temperature range. During this period, management should be strengthened, and loosening the soil and weeding several times can promote soil aeration, accelerate the transformation of soil nutrients, promote well-developed roots, improve disease resistance, and achieve rapid and healthy growth.
