Today I saw a golden-edge lucky bamboo and it looked so beautiful, I want to grow a pot too, but how do you grow golden-edge lucky bamboo? Is there anyone online who can help introduce the planting methodFor the growing methods of golden-edge lucky bamboo, you can refer to the following introduction:
Golden-edge lucky bamboo is native to western Africa, likes high temperature, high humidity and a sunny environment, is not cold-tolerant, tolerates pruning, should avoid direct strong light in summer, and prefers loose sandy loam soil; the winter temperature should not be lower than 10°C.
Golden-edge lucky bamboo is generally propagated mainly by cuttings; cuttings are best taken in the rainy season from June to July. Select mature branches, cut them into 10 cm pieces, and insert them into coarse sand. At a temperature of 25-30°C, they root in about 25-30 days, and after 2 months they can be transplanted into pots.
During the growing period of golden-edge lucky bamboo, keep the pot soil moist; you can also spray water to increase air humidity. Fertilize once every half month, repot every year in April-May, and prune the whole plant so it can sprout new branches. Growth is vigorous in summer, so provide appropriate shade and water frequently; do not let the pot soil dry out.
Light requirements of golden-edge lucky bamboo:
It likes light but also avoids direct blazing sun in summer. For home care, it can be placed under a south-facing window or on a balcony, only avoiding direct light in summer; in other seasons it is best to give it some light, otherwise the golden-yellow stripes in the middle of the leaves will become dull and disappear, greatly reducing its ornamental value.
Temperature requirements of golden-edge lucky bamboo:
The optimum growing temperature is between 20-30°C; the overwintering temperature is best kept above 10°C, and it is not tolerant of low-temperature freezing damage. During growth it needs a certain amount of air humidity, otherwise the leaf color becomes dull and the gloss decreases. During the growing period, spray the plant with clean water frequently; if conditions allow, it is best to increase the moisture and humidity in the environment.
Disease control of golden-edge lucky bamboo:
Leaf spot, stem rot and root rot are harmful to golden-edge lucky bamboo; a 100-fold Bordeaux mixture can be sprayed several times. Pests include thrips and scale insects; spray with a 50% omethoate emulsifiable concentrate at 1000-fold dilution.
