How to manage jasmine in autumn? Please give guidanceJasmine blooms continuously from summer to autumn, with July to August being the peak flowering period, when the flowers are large, fragrant and numerous. If you want jasmine to keep blooming continuously, management is needed to ensure it. The following introduces some jasmine management methods for reference:
1. Cultivation and weeding:You should frequently shallow hoe, loosen the soil and weed, to create a loose and well-ventilated soil environment for the jasmine root system, avoid nutrient dispersal, and promote its growth and development. Generally, cultivate and weed 6-8 times throughout the year.
2. Reasonable water management:Jasmine has dense branches and leaves and a high rate of water transpiration, so the soil should always be kept moist. During the flowering and harvesting period, the field water content should be kept at 60%-80%. In summer, water in the morning and evening; in autumn, water in the morning; in winter, water once every 4-5 days at noon. In hot early weather, a sprayer can be used to spray water to moisten the leaves, which is beneficial for lush growth.
3. Scientific fertilization:When jasmine new shoots sprout, apply 1500 kg of dilute human and animal manure at a concentration of 50% per mu, plus 4 kg of urea. In summer, after pruning, combined with cultivation and weeding, apply 500-1000 kg of farmyard manure, 15-20 kg of urea, 35-50 kg of superphosphate, and 25 kg of compound fertilizer per mu.
During the bud stage, use 50 g of monopotassium phosphate and 150 g of urea mixed with 40 kg of water per mu for foliar spraying. At the end of autumn flowering, generally fertilizing once every 10-15 days is sufficient. After White Dew, the flowering period has basically ended, and fertilization can be stopped. In ordinary fertilization, deep trench application should be used, and broadcast application is not suitable. If a small amount of bone meal is applied as appropriate, the fragrance can be made stronger.
4. Pruning and topping:After jasmine seedlings are transplanted, pruning and leaf thinning should be carried out to cultivate a high-yield tree shape. Pruning work must be completed before jasmine sprouts. For old jasmine plants that have grown for more than 6 years, after Start of Summer and before Lesser Fullness, the first flower buds will appear. This bud stage has few buds, and the flowers are small and of poor quality.
In order to prevent wasteful consumption of nutrients and promote more shoot growth, the flower buds and branch terminal buds should be cut off. This is the key measure to ensure jasmine blooms and blooms well. After entering the flowering and harvesting period, after each inflorescence is picked, a short cut is needed. After each flowering period in June, July and August, prune leaving 2 pairs of leaves.
5. Pest and disease control:The main jasmine diseases are southern blight and branch blight caused by fungi. Diseased plants should be treated when found, by pulling out the diseased plants or spreading quintozene. Or use 40% dimethachlon or 25% prochloraz, or 40% quintozene and other 500-800 times liquid to drench the roots or spray for control.
The main insect pests are scale insects, red spiders, and thrips flower borers (jasmine moth). They can be sprayed and killed with 40% dimethoate emulsion at 1500-2000 times liquid. Spray again once after 7-10 days. The spraying time should be after flower picking in the afternoon. In addition, when pests occur, smoke can be used in the garden at dusk, which has the effect of driving away adult insects from laying eggs.
